I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death, healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it, and shout out to God. Ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. Hey, begin before we start building the blueprint. This week, I wanted to let you know that this episode of the podcast is being brought to you by the comeback challenge. The comeback challenge is happening Tuesday, January 12, through Thursday, January 14, and it is three days to kicking your setbacks in the bud and bouncing back. Listen, this challenge is especially for you if this sounds familiar, you wake up in the morning and tell yourself again, today will be the day you begin to make changes. But you’re paralyzed by fear and you feel alone on the journey. Or you are frustrated with trying to figure everything out on your own. But you don’t trust anyone enough to share your struggles or seek support. Listen, you do not have to do this alone, we don’t grow alone, we don’t bounce back alone, we don’t get to where God would have us to be on our own. And this is an opportunity for you to thrive in a community of Covenant connections, you’re going to get some live coaching and some self paced training and activities. And this is going to kickstart your bounce back journey. So if you are ready to make your comeback in 2021, and you want to be a part of the comeback challenge, and you can sign up with the link in the show notes it is@bit.li slash comeback challenge. Now, let’s get into building the blueprint. And today I wanted to talk to you a little bit about my one word and one goal and why I switched to the power of one. And by that I mean the power of having one goal and one word to be my theme for the year. And to guide everything that I do. And I want to start off by sharing why it’s been several years since I set a new year’s resolution. And I remember facing the idea of ceasing to set resolutions with a very strong resistance. Like literally I was feeling a bit tense and uptight about not professing the challenges that I was going to conquer that year. And you know, the idea that I would never be professing those challenges at the start of a new year. And the truth is, as my life began to shift and take on more of a Spirit led vision center focus, my need to aim towards specific goals at the start of each year shifted as well. And then finally, they became completely unnecessary. And I’ve shared in previous episodes about how I was addicted to achievement, and I will be sure to link to one of those episodes in the show notes. But one of the main reasons why I stopped making resolutions is because resolutions were a reflection of my personal need for control. Yes, I am a recovering control freak. When I was setting by resolutions, I will come up with my plan of execution and then pray for God to bless my plans. And while this appeared to work well for many years I was achieving things. It slowly became apparent that my plans and God plans are not properly aligned. Can you relate to that? You know, that whole process of getting to the top of the wrong ladder and feeling unaccomplished? Even though everyone around you is applauding. Meanwhile, God is saying, you are going to need to climb down and start at the bottom of the right ladder for you to get the fullness of my promises. So the more I grew both spiritually and personally, the better. I was able to understand how the shifts that were happening in my life, were for the best and that God was allowing me to take the lead as necessary, but it started with me being able to surrender in during times of reflection and prayer, I recognized while I had set well meaning resolutions, and I was working diligently to accomplish and achieve them, I was consistently missing my mark. And I learned that I had to be willing to go to God and constantly pray for guidance. I had to like I said, surrender and allow my desires and plans to become his, I had to begin living a more Spirit led life. My process for selecting my annual theme is this exact is the exact opposite of the one I used to use to set and plan my strategies for achieving and setting new year’s resolutions. And I know now, I need to pray and meditate and listen for the voice of God to be led in the direction that he sees fit. And I also have to do intentional reflection, not only at certain times of the year, but consistently throughout the year, and be 100% honest with myself. And the same is true for you, especially if you are a person who has the need for control, and has a need to know the solution to a question or problem before you even attempt or take action, then I’m going to challenge you to if you haven’t already stopped making new year’s resolutions and embrace this process of allowing your truth, your self awareness and the presence of God to really lead you on this journey. The second reason why I stopped making resolutions is because for me resolutions were finite. More than once in the past, I have made the resolution to lose 50 pounds, and more than once I have in fact lost 50 pounds. Just to be clear, this resolution had to be made more than once because I gained the weight back. The issue with this resolution and resolutions of this type was there was no plan or indication for what I should or would do once the rep resolution was fulfilled. There was no continuum for maintaining the weight loss I had worked so hard to achieve throughout the year because I was so focused on the achievement itself. So for me, resolutions led me to chase a destination, as opposed to creating a lifestyle or a shift in my life that would be lasting. And what I now know is that with annual themes, I recognize there’s a natural flow. And because there is a natural and Spirit led and aligned flow, there is a continuum. The momentum of last year’s theme was built from the momentum of the theme of the year before that. And I’ll get into that a little bit more when I share my word. And I recognize that my one goal and my one word themes are guiding principles for building my legacy, and are applicable in all areas of life as opposed to resolutions being limited to say, your physical health or getting promoted on your job or something like that. And then finally, for me, and maybe this is true for you too. resolutions lacked emotion. Since resolutions are so heavily focused on arriving or doing there’s often little consideration given to how you want to feel along the way or the emotions associated with the arrival at whatever that destination is deciding to spend the day after deciding to spend day after day moving closer and closer to a destination. While miserable or feeling negatively for the sake of achieving it became redundant and effective. And felt like a self imposed prison. We have an interview coming up on the podcast that is so great with Evelyn Vasya. And one of the things that she says is you cannot hate yourself then. And so you cannot hate yourself to a goal. And when I say yourself, I mean you cannot hate the process yourself is going through right it can be hard, it can be challenging, but if you hate it is it a journey that you even want to be a part of your life again, I’m not saying that you have to love everything that you grow through, but to hate it is very extreme. And so a clear sign that your theme or your one word and goal is right for you as being able to apply it to your life holistically. Regardless of what area of your life you are reflecting upon or examining or working to improve. Your theme should guide those activities. If you cannot align your one word and goal with your intention spiritually, mentally, emotionally, professionally, financially, socially, then you may want to spend a bit more time and money prayer and meditation and in reflection, and you really, really want to be patient with yourself through this process. So here are some steps you can take, if you’re not sure where God is leading you. Like I said, you can pray with only the expectation to hear from God, not to confirm necessarily your own intention, or your own resolution or your own plan, pray openly to hear from God to get clarity. You can also be intentional about spending quiet time alone with God and reflecting about lessons and blessings not only over the last year, but it can be over the last week over the last month, right? So setting aside the time to spend with God and yourself to really reflect on what is or isn’t working, and how that informs what needs to change, and then who you need to become in order for you to make those changes. And then of course, you can write through your thoughts and feelings, and responses to these answer prayers, what you hear from God, and what your self tells you in response to these questions. So that’s kind of why I now have the one I have one word and one goal for each year. And in fact, this year, I have one color that God has given me. So I will talk to you a little bit about my one. So I shared on an episode in 2020. In fact, it was my birthday episode, unshakable joy, I will link that in the show notes as well, that my work for 2020 was unshakable. And in fact, for me, oftentimes, my word for the calendar year to come, comes between my birthday, which is in June, and October. So God begins to prepare me for what is to come often, prior to I enter my own personal year end season, a reflection, if you will. And so in 2020, my word was unshakable. And the reason why God told me that that would be my word. And while I why I knew it will be something in that area is because I was very distracted, I was looking around a lot, I knew that God was calling me to do the work I was doing. But I was looking around a lot at for the how I was looking around a lot for if I’m honest, the validation of me doing it right. And God was saying to me, you’re too distracted. You’re trying to do so many things at once that you’re not executing anything with excellence. And I need you to put your head down. And he brought me to the book of Nehemiah and I was studying it. And specifically, verse three, really resonated with me. And so it became my one scripture to go with my one word unshakable for 2020. And the Scripture, which I’m not giving you verbatim, basically, is Nehemiah saying to the people who were trying to interrupt him from building the wall at the time, that you know, I don’t have time to come down and deal with you. I’m not addressing that right now. I am doing a great work, I cannot come down, I am doing a great work. And so it was for me, also God affirming that he had to find a great work to me. And he needed me to be focused more than ever on the fulfillment of my purpose and call because there were others blessings and breakthroughs assigned to my ability to be unshakable. Just like in the case of Nehemiah, and those who he was leading as he was building that wall. And so as the year progressed, and I continue to reflect, as I said, and I moved through the year, and I had a lot of milestones, it was a milestone year for me, I turned 40. So a lot of things were changing relationships were changing. And then of course, we entered into a national pandemic. And so I had the foresight and was giving me the foresight that there were going to be some major distraction, there were going to be a lot of shifts and changes happening. But even still, he rewrote he wanted me to remain unshakable and focused on what he had me to do. And so as the year progressed, he spoke to me one day that I had everything that I have been praying for, and the reason it didn’t look or feel the way thought that it would or should, is because I wasn’t stewarding it well. And that was a huge gut punch. But when I sat back, and I reflected on that, I knew it was true. So much of what I have. And what I do is what I pray for, to be able to have the clarity and the courage and be committed to doing what God has told me to do. So if you don’t know, I will be celebrating four years of marriage in March of this year, I have two sons, I am a homeowner, I run a nonprofit that I started. And I have been able to build it from next to nothing to now getting a salary. And I also have this business and this podcast where I’m able to share and encourage and coach women just like you. So you know, I have great community and so many opportunities. I’ve written books, and I help other women write books. So a lot of what I’ve prayed for has come to pass. Right? That’s not to say that life is perfect. But what God made expressly clear to me was that if I was being a better steward, the picture would be much more perfectly imperfect for me the way that he intends. And so you know, in my prayer and my meditation and reflection time, we decided that my one word would be cultivate. And that is, because if I’m going to be a better steward, then I’m going to need to cultivate stronger relationships with what is most important. And so my one word for 2021, is cultivate. And my one goal is to cultivate stronger relationships. And to be clear, like I said, both this word and this goal, are able or are applicable, I should say to my entire life, right? So I need to cultivate a stronger relationship with God in my spiritual life, I need to cultivate a stronger relationship with myself. And that is, you know, with my health and taking better care of myself holistically, I need to cultivate a stronger relationship in my marriage with my husband, my children are on their way, very close to graduating high school, once a junior, well, one will be a senior in the fall one will be a junior in the fall. And so cultivating stronger relationships with them. I need to cultivate stronger relationships with donors and with corporations who support the nonprofit. And of course, I need to cultivate stronger relationships with you here on this podcast and with the women that I’m coaching and even with the women that I have the potential to impact whether they are working with me or not. And so I am really excited about this year, I’m really excited about what will happen, what will happen and what will be made manifest with me focusing. And here’s the other thing that I want to say about having a one word goal, or excuse me having one goal. And the one word focus is that it sets a standard for you that if What if you are approached with an opportunity, or someone invites you to something or to do something and it doesn’t align with that goal, or your work, then you know, you can say no with intention, and without malice and know that in doing so you are saying yes to being aligned with God and what he has called you to do. Now, I want to be sure that you understand that I am that I am clearly communicating that within that big goal, to cultivate stronger relationships. There are specific projects that I’m working on. And there are specific tasks that are going to be necessary to complete to bring that to fruition, right to measure my success, or lack thereof, or my progress at the end of the year. Right. And so I think it’s very important to recognize the difference between a goal and a project and then the tasks that it will take to complete each project so that you meet your goal and I can give you an example. So for me, cultivating a stronger relationship with my money, right with my finances is really important this year. And so one of my projects this quarter is to develop a realistic budget for my family right for we are going to work together to develop this budget. And so within that some of the tasks that are going to be completed some of the projects within that are this month. We are having a note spend a month right. So what that means is we are spending money specifically on necessities right specifically on the things that we will have to do every month, regardless of what month it is. And the reason why is because for us to really understand and get a good grasp on what our monthly expenses are, we need to see them without all of the extras that we add in. And so it’s been very challenging, especially with all of the sales, you know, that come at the top of the year and after Christmas and all of the opportunities. But I know that it is going to strengthen our family, the strengthening my relationship with my husband is strengthening the relationship that we have with with food, right, because we’re not eating out, we’re not ordering out. So I’m being very intentional about preparing my husband’s lunch, which, you know, overflows into, like I said, cultivating that stronger relationship with him. So you can see how this one goal is having impact holistically on not only my life, but the lives of the people in my family, and also those that I am called to serve. So I want to challenge you. First, I want to encourage you, because you know, it’s already January 6, when you’ll hear this episode, right? And the world will have you thinking that you have to have your plans for the year already figured out. And if you don’t, you’re behind and you should have done it in the last quarter. And you should already be hustling yourself to death. But I want to encourage you that you are right on time you are not behind. And I want to challenge you. It To be honest with yourself, and ask yourself if you have already set goals or set resolutions, where are they Spirit led? And where are they finite? Where did they lack emotion, were they focused on you having control. And then I want you to also challenge yourself to consider how your life would change if you gave yourself permission to set one goal. And if you challenge yourself to set a goal so powerful, that it will not only transform your life, but the lives of those around you and those that you are called to impact. And if you are up for the challenge, then I want to know what your one goal is, I want to hear from you about what your one goal is and what your word is. And if this episode has been helpful for you, of course, you know, you can jump in my DMS on Instagram or Facebook, I am at the Tiffany half, you can take a screenshot of this episode and share it out. If it Bless you, it will likely bless someone else. And of course, if you are looking to get the support and the clarity around your one, if you’re ready to become unshakable and remove the distractions and the clutter, and really cultivate the life that God has called you to, and you want to set a solid foundation for that by getting to your one goal in your one word, I would love to be your coach and guide through that process. And I am now enrolling new coaching clients. If you’re interested and want to have a chat about how we can work together, and how I can help you make 2021 one of your best years yet, then I encourage you to grab the link in my show notes and schedule a breakthrough session it is free of charge. And you can do that@bit.li slash your bounce back guide. But if you aren’t ready for that, then I implore you to join us for the comeback challenge. It will be just what you need to kickstart this reflection process, to kickstart your journey to build your confidence and clarity and to build some great relationships that you will have with women who are like minded to both encourage and challenge you through this year. So don’t be out in the streets saying you don’t have anyone to help you because I have given you two options to get the support you need. And it is available right now. I look forward to seeing you for the challenge. And I cannot wait to learn about your one goal and your one word. I pray that you are blessed by this episode. And of course I will leave you with this. God is not going to play you but if you’re out here in the streets, setting, unrealistic, Miss aligned goals and you’re not seeking Him about what he would have you do be and have a promise you are laying your self be blessed.

Hey beacon, welcome home to your bounce back blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best. As you thrive on your journey from setback to success. I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death, healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it, and shout out to God, ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. Hey, begin. Hey, what do you do, boo. I know, I know, you’ve been missing me. I’ve been missing you, too. It’s been a minute, right? It’s all good. Though. Even Jesus had to take some time to rest and your girl needed to rest I needed to rest. It was March 4, the last time we were together. And I shared an episode about marching fourth, empower. And it was as if immediately after God gave me that word to share. He revealed to me that marching force empower for me is going to require me to take some dedicated time to power up so that I can march forth powerfully. And I’m so super excited to be back with you to be repowered up to share with you. And guess what, Today is a big day. Let me hit the drum roll real quick.

Today, we are celebrating the one year podcast aversary for the bounce back blueprint podcast, pero, pero, pero, pero, pero que all of those fancy sounds that are indicative of a celebration. So before I dig into today’s episode, which is all about some of the lessons that I’ve learned from this past year of podcasting, I want to first express my gratitude to you for being a listener for being a consistent listener for being supportive, for leaving reviews for sharing, for sending me messages about how what I share and what my guests share, have blessed you, I appreciate all of your support, I appreciate you being on this journey with me. And I don’t take for granted your presence here the time that you invest, and listening to what I have to share. And it is my intention that the next year, and all of the years to come will be as much of a blessing if not more. Now, all of that said, a grab your tea or your coffee or your wine, or Hey, if you’re like me, your water in a wine glass, and your journal and get comfortable as we are building the blueprint this week, based on the lessons that I have learned. These are not necessarily in any particular order. With the exception of the last lesson, I am going to save the biggest lesson for last. Alright, so the first lesson that I wanted to share with you is this idea, or this truth that I’ve learned that I am a value bank. And everything that I share creates an investment from my bank into another. And I am consistently getting returns on those investments. And the reason why this is a huge lesson. You know what, let me say that again, because I feel like you may need to internalize this for yourself and recognize this truth for yourself. And here is the truth. I am a value bank, you are a value bank. So every time I create a podcast episode or create content or Instagram, do a live stream, you know I’m interviewed somewhere else or I’m doing a workshop or retreat, any capacity that I am serving in, I am depositing into the banks of others. And just like when you are making an investment in the market, if you will, or at a bank, when you make a deposit, you are going to get a return right sometimes the investments that you make require a longer period of time before you see a return right they are smaller returns that come and you aren’t going to really receive all of it unless you give it time to come, right? That compounding interest is what gives you the greatest return. And so from the perspective of the work that I do, not only on this podcast, but with clients, and even making those investments for potential clients, what I recognize is, my value is not determined by the immediate return on every investment that I make. Some of these investments are compounding right now, some of them are seeing immediate returns. Some are small, some are large, but what I know for sure is that God has called me to do this work, he has invested a lot in me so that he can work in and through me. And so when I make a deposit into others, into someone else into you, I am, you know, creating an opportunity for return on investment, I am making an investment I have value and what I share has value. And the reason why I had to learn this, and really internalize this truth and get this lesson deep down in my spirit is that podcasting and being in this entrepreneurial journey, specifically in coaching and personal development, you know, it can be an uphill climb, you don’t immediately see the returns on your investment. Sometimes that comes in the form of making a post and not getting a comment or or like other times that comes in the form of, you know, pouring out in the form of content in the form of podcast episodes, and not seeing the number of downloads that I would like to see or not having the number of subscribers that I want to see or not getting the number of reviews or shares that I would like to see. But it doesn’t change the fact that I am a value bank. And what I am sharing still has value, it doesn’t change the fact that I have planted seeds, I have made these deposits. And knowing that I am a value bank, knowing that I am consistently making investments is a reminder for me that my return on investment, my harvest from the seeds that I am planting is going to come. And the same is true for you, there may be something that you have been doing for an extended period of time, and you know that God has called you to it. And you know, it’s your thing, right? There may be seeds you’ve planted, and you’ve been watering, and you’ve been cultivating the soil. And you’re wondering when you’re going to get the return on your investment. And I just want you to know that the harvest is coming, your investment is having a compounding period right now, there will be a return on your investment. just recognize that what you are doing what you are contributing what you are sharing is coming from your bank of value you have value and what you have been gifted to share has value. And you need to recognize that not all returns are immediate.

Not all returns are going to come tomorrow or next week. But I can promise you that if you are doing what God has called you to do, if you are aligned with the divine, you will reap your harvest, you will see returns plural, on your investments. So that’s lesson number one, right? And the next lesson that I want to share is kind of like a two four. The first is that inconsistency is the deal breaker. Let me say this again, in consistency is the deal breaker. And again, I learned this through my first or this past year of podcasting because the The reality is that you can say that content is king or queen. However, if your content isn’t being shared, and well, let me say if your content isn’t being produced and share consistently, then it doesn’t matter if it’s the queen or king, right? So you have to show up. And that means you have to show up consistently doing what you’re doing. Whether you’re a podcaster or a mother or wife. If you’re getting up and going to work or you are serving in your community or in your church you have to show up inconsistency is the deal breaker if you’re feeling stuck if you’re feeling unclear if you’re feeling like you don’t know if you’re doing it right. These are thoughts that are just demonstrative of a ProCredit a procrastinator and lead to inconsistency. Right? So you want to be very intentional and I had to learn to be very intentional about the way I was investing my time and really recognizing that there is time that is to be invested and there is time to be spent right. And that piggybacks off what I said before about being a value bank. banks don’t just go out spending frivolously right they are making investments, they are doing the research and they are committing to excellence in studying and being aware of what is best and what is going to bring the greatest return. And it’s the same for you, you have to know that consistency is one of the best investments you can make in anything that you are doing. If you are being inconsistent, you will start to have the thought that says, This isn’t working, or you will start to think I’m not doing this, right. And the biggest thing you’re probably doing wrong, is not showing up consistently. So I want you to consider those areas in your life right now, where, excuse me, things don’t seem to be working, where you’ve told yourself, maybe this isn’t the right thing, maybe I should try something different. Because you’re not seeing the results, the way that you expected to see the results. And I want to encourage you, and I want you to get honest with yourself. And I want you to do a self check. And really consider how often you’ve been showing up how often you’ve been making deposits. And then I want you to take it a step further and consider the value of the deposits that you’re making. Now, I don’t want you to feel like you have to do things perfectly. But God does call us to walk in excellent to move with excellence. And, you know, that is why you know, you hear people who pray, God bless the work of my hands, plus the work of our hands. And this actually comes from a scripture in Psalm, which is Psalm 9017. And it says, may the favor of the Lord our God rest on us establish the work of our hands for us, yes, establish the work of our hands. So if we want God to establish the work of our hands, we need to be doing the work of our hands with excellence. And that means with consistency, right? So I learned very early on actually, in my pet podcasting journey, that inconsistency can be a deal breaker inconsistency can be the determining factor in whether you make $5 in a month, or $5,000 in a month. And consistency can determine whether you have two downloads or 200 downloads of a particular episode. And consistency can determine whether or not people are taking you seriously right, whether or not and and actually what I should say is is a demonstration of whether or not you are taking yourself and what you have been called to do what God has placed within you, for you to be a blessing to others, whether or not you are taking that seriously. And I know this is something that I usually say at the end of the podcast episode, but I have to tell you this now, God is not going to play you. But if you are out here in the streets thinking you can do what he called you to do less than consistently, you are playing your self says inconsistency is a deal breaker. Okay.

That is the second lesson. Now that carries into the third lesson. And the third lesson is all about stewardship. I share in an earlier podcast episode that God revealed to me last year that I had everything I have been praying praying for the reason why it didn’t look or feel the way that I expected it to was because I wasn’t stewarding it well. And I’ll be honest, that was a gut punch, you know, because we all want to hear God say Well done, you know, my good and faithful servant. And so I’ve learned over this past year that being a good steward is the real flex, right? Because like I said previously, when you are being a good steward, God is more willing to bless the work of your hands because he can trust you with what you have. And so I really embraced, you know, this message that God gave me and the reality of this truth. And I also shared this, that my work for 2021 is cultivate, and specifically my theme is to cultivate stronger relationships because while we are constantly asking for more and more and more when God already says this is enough, this is what you need. And in fact, this is where your overflow is you just aren’t seeing it. And it hasn’t overflow the way you expect it to because of how you care for it. Then you need to develop stronger relationships with what he’s entrusted to you. Right. And that is not me saying that you need to be obsessing over anything. What I am saying is that you need to be intentional. You know, or I should say, I knew I recognized that I needed to be more intentional. And stewarding what I had well, and ultimately in doing so being more grateful, right, because I believe the best way to be a good steward is to live a lifestyle of gratitude. And so in alignment with that, my scripture is for 2021 with the word cultivate come out of Colossians, 323 and 24. And ultimately, these are the verses that say, whatever you are doing, do it as if you are serving the god right, like so, living a life of if God was right next to me, if God was on target with you, would you be picking up all of that random stuff when you know, he’s told you to save money, or when you recognize that you’ve been praying to be debt free, and you could potentially pay another bill this month, right. And I’m speaking specifically, personally from my experience, but I also had to learn as it is related to what God has given me dominion over right what he is entrusted to me, with this podcast, the lives that are assigned to the words that are to come out of my mouth, and the way that I am sharing them, I also need to steward those well. And so that is why I decided to start doing two podcast episodes a week because I needed to break through that deal breaker of inconsistency I needed to show God that I was cultivating a stronger relationship, first and foremost with him with myself and then with with my gift, and those who he has entrusted me to share my gifts with. And it’s not always easy. Right? And and when I say that, I’m what I really am saying is that I didn’t always make it easy for myself, right? And it goes back to to the other two lessons that I’ve shared, if you’re not understanding that you are a value bank, and really believing in what God has called and created you to do, if you’re not understanding that in order for you to be, excuse me, in order for you to maximize the value in your bank, you have to be consistent, right? That all builds up to being a good steward. And so as you consider whether stewardship has been the real flex for you look around, look around at what you have, and this is both tangibly and intangibly. Look around in your mind. What are the thoughts that you were thinking, right? How were you stewarding Your thoughts? Because how you steward your thoughts are really what leads to how you steward everything else, and the results that are made real as a result of your thoughts. And so I really have been doing the work over the past year and even more so over the past few months, with my new coach to really begin to steward my thoughts well, to really understand the power of my thoughts. And my need to be in alignment with the thoughts that God thinks of me, so that I can be the best version of myself not only as a podcaster, but as a wife, as a mom, as a child of the Most High God. And so, are you stewarding Your thoughts? Well? Are you being mindful of the thoughts that are lies that are taking up space in your mind, and that are interfering with the truth of what God has for you and who he is created you to be? Because if you’re not stewarding those thoughts, well, then your action is going to be inconsistent. And then you will begin to think that you are not about your bank, you see how all of these lessons work together. That’s how good God is right? He teaches us things real time.

And he is always willing to give us an example. And here’s the other thing that our excuse me, here’s another scripture that I want you to be aware of. It’s Ecclesiastes 712. And it says a wisdom is a shelter, as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this wisdom preserves those who have it. And so if you’re going to be a good steward, you not only have to steward money well right not only like reinforcing what I just said, not only the tangible but the intangible, your thoughts, right, your knowledge, what are you doing with what you know, or as the people in the internet street say? If you know better, why are you not doing better? Let me ask you that again. If you know better, why are you not doing better, taking inventory of your thoughts, taking them mentoree on the way you are stewarding what God has entrusted you with are you doing everything that you do? As if you are serving God? Are you stewarding your wisdom and knowledge the way that you steward money? Are you stewarding wisdom and knowledge the way that you steward your phone honey because we will put a case on it a screen protector, a wallet to cover it specifically have insurance on the phone on the case. Put it in an outer box so it doesn’t get wet all of these things. That is how consistently and intentionally we are we’re stewarding our phones, are you stewarding your wellness that way, are you stewarding your wisdom that way? Are you stewarding your relationship with God that way? Are you stewarding the right relationship with your family that way? like can you say the stewardship is the real flex for you right now? That is the question for that lesson. And then the fourth lesson that I learned is that it is okay. For the one thing to be the one thing, right. And you may remember earlier in the year, I did an episode called the power of one, and how I was being very intentional about setting one goal this year. Again, reiterating that my word for the year is cultivate, and I’m focused on cultivating stronger relationships. That is my one goal, right? That is the power of one. Now that goal is being applied to or that famous being applied to different areas of my life, at different times during this year. But the ultimate goal is to cultivate stronger relationships. And the reason why that is the ultimate goal is because of everything else that I’ve shared with you. And so I really was intentional, again about cultivating a stronger relationship with you the beacon who listens to this podcast. And again, that is why I started doing two episodes a week. That is why moving forward, you will see some changes coming in the way that the podcast is being shared with you, I think you will enjoy it. And that is also why you don’t see me do you didn’t see I should say me doing much else, right? Because I want to I really want to be able to see how the return on an investment changes so dramatically. When you are focused on the one thing now, I don’t want you to think about this, you know exactly the way you might think about money because it’s like, oh, but you don’t want to put all of your eggs in one basket, I get that, right. But there is always a priority basket.

There is always something that is getting the most attention. There is always something that is your main thing. And so I want you to consider what is that for you. Because what happens for us, especially as women, and you know, as a recovering overachiever, this has been a consistent challenge for me in the past is like, well, I’m passionate about this, and I’m good at this. And I want to accomplish all of these things in this period of time. And there’s nothing wrong with being ambitious. There’s nothing wrong with being multi passionate. God did not make any mistakes when He created us, right? He knew what he invested in us even before we knew right, the word says that he formed us or he knew us before he formed us in our mother’s womb right before we even thought about he had plans for our lives. So I don’t want you to hear me saying that you can’t be multi passionate, but what I will say that, what I will say is that in being a good steward, and executing an excellence and being intentional about being consistent, and really building up your value bank, you have to have a focus. And the world has for as long as I can remember, impressed upon us the culture has impressed upon us that you have to be doing all of the things right you have to be a good multitasker. But really, for many of us that has created a world and I may even say a lifestyle of distractions. We are so distracted by everything. A lot of times that it is a challenge for us to focus and so the at least that was my story has been my story for a very long time for a while it was a strength until it wasn’t and so now I’m much more intentional. And I have given myself permission. I have changed my thoughts around. The limitations, I associated with having a primary focus because the reality is and what I know to be true. Even even with it being this past year, what I know to be true is that when I am focused on the the one thing, the returns on my investment are greater because I’m able to be more consistent. I’m not feeling like I’m all over the place, my brain is not scattered, I’m not worried about doing 10 things on my list every day, I have a much more narrow focus. It’s not that I’m still not working hard. It’s not that I still don’t have things to do. But there is a flow and not so much force. And so I want to challenge you, you know, if you have struggled with setting one goal, if you have struggled with feeling like if you’re not doing all of the things you’re under achieving, I want you to first dig into those thoughts like where did those thoughts come from? who planted those seeds for those thoughts in your mind? And is it time for you to rip up those seeds from the root? Is it time for you to rethink what you’re focusing on what you’re giving you what you’re making priority in your life. And I’ll make sure to link this the episode in the show notes that is all around the power of one. Because making the one thing the one thing will transform your life. And you know, I talked about this earlier in the year as well, you have the power to change your life, it starts with a decision. Right. And once you make that decision, right, once you have that thought, then you can do the work.

So I really want you to think about how you’ve set all of these goals. And maybe you’re killing it with one of them. And you’ve been feeling guilty or ashamed or sad, because the other ones are not progressing at the same pace. Today is your day to celebrate the one goal and to consider making it the goal. Not that you want to achieve those other ones. But recognizing giving yourself permission and space to say in this season. These are not my focus, maybe in the next quarter, maybe in the next six months, maybe next year. But right now, this is the thing. And I can tell you that the thing when you focus on it will open doors when you’re consistent with it. When you recognize the value in the bank and what you are investing, it will make a difference as long as you are stewarding it well. And if in fact, you refuse to make the main thing, the main thing is a clear indication that you are challenged with being a good steward. Okay, that’s the word right there. I hope you wrote it down. Okay, last but certainly not least, and these are the top five lessons, there were plenty of others. But I will tell you this last lesson, you know, it kinda hit it kind of hits hard. It’s a relief. And, you know, it’s unsettling at the same time. And the reason why is both is because I’ve constantly been in my own way. And I’ve constantly been in my own way, because I refused to learn the previous four lessons, first and foremost about being a value bank, you know, and not recognizing your value again, and I’m repeating these because I really want you to see the connection of these lessons and how, how really learning them and embracing them. And appreciating who you were, when you didn’t understand these things. And forgiving who you were, will will lead you to this this final lesson. And that is that everything comes full circle, or as it is written in the world in Romans 828. All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. And so I learned this year, very directly, I should say, right, none of these lessons are groundbreaking. But I learned them much on a much deeper level. I embraced them on a much deeper level this year, and especially this truth that everything comes full circle, you know, and this one really hit home. You know, I really got it.

Right after I did that March 4 episode and took that sabbatical. And it makes me think of this thing my dad used to always say to me, and it was you’ve gone as far as you can go on your own. And when he shared that with me or when he would say it to me, I would take it with a grain of salt because I want to be like yeah, well you keep saying that. And now I’m doing this and now I’m doing this right. But again, when you don’t recognize your value bank and when you aren’t willing to prioritize, prioritize and make the thing and most, most importantly, when you aren’t able to, or when you aren’t willing to surrender and trust God, you don’t really have the clarity to move accordingly. And so, because I lacked clarity at that time, it looked like I was still progressing. But the reality was not so much. And of course, hindsight is 2020. But as it relates to things coming full circle, you know, I got really frustrated in March. And you know, God was saying March 4, and I shared that with you all. But then I went back to God, and I was like, why is it that I am not able to march 4? Why is it that, you know, I have clearly been given these gifts from you and these ideas, and I have these plans. And for some reason, some of these things never come to fruition have not come to fruition. And I’m trying this, I’m trying that and I know that these things will bring you glory, and guy had to remind me that he never told me to stop being who I was, when this journey started.

You know, I’ve shared here on this podcast about how I did coffee and clarity for several years, how I in the past was coaching and the power morning, all things that I loved. And there came a time, not not long before this pandemic began to consumers where God told me that the season was coming to an end. And what I interpreted that to mean at the time was that it was hard stop done, finito, forever. But what he reminded me over this past year, not that it was done forever, but the season of how some of those things were being done, had ended. And clearly, I would not have been able to continue to do coffee and clarity the way I was doing it, because of what’s an impact person event. But I was, I was so blind, even with the clarity that God was giving me I was so blinded, to the truth of, you know, that first lesson, again, that I shared about being a value bank, that I was being inconsistent in some of the things that I needed to do as a good steward, to ensure that I was clearly hearing what God was saying to me, so that I would move forward accordingly. And in that time that I took away from the podcast, and really, really, really seeking God and crying out and praying and crying some more, and journaling, you know, it has just become very clear that where I started, there was nothing wrong, what I was doing, there was nothing wrong. However, I needed to pause, I needed to step back, for God to be able to show me for me to be able to clearly see for me to be able to clearly hear him speaking, that there is value in what I have to do. And there is a way for me to expand the impact, right, there is a way for me to increase the deposits and investments that I’m making, so that when I receive the return, it will be even more plentiful than I anticipated. All of that to say, number one, do not despise small beginnings. Number two, do not place limitations on what God calls you to, regardless of if there are limitations on the number of people who can fit in a room because of the CDC. regardless of if it is about the amount of money you have to accommodate what he has given you do not place limitations on anything that God has given you. Everything comes full circle. And in knowing this to be the truth. The other thing that I had to really understand is that sometimes God gives us vision now, but it’s not for now, right? Sometimes God shows us what is to come. And because we get so excited about it, we think that it is for now. But again, if you’re not being a good steward of your relationship with God, and the truth and the wisdom that he is giving you, then you aren’t going to be able to use it properly to be doing have all that he has called you to. And so all of that to say like I said there will be a little bit of change being

made to the podcast to really

increase the value and also to

excuse me as a way for me to really

embrace the value

You right, and also for God to consistently get the glory out of what I do. And for me to recognize that the only thing that I will be chasing in these streets, on the internet or otherwise is God, right. And I just am so very grateful for the past year with all of its challenges. And

like I said, ugly cries and misunderstandings and pages and pages of journals, with pity parties, if I 100% transparent, and tell him my therapist, and my coach that I’m just like, done, I’m tired, I’m checking out one of my business BFF, she will tell you, I have quit probably three times in the last, you know, three or four months and what however many months we’ve been in 2021. But the reality is that I am in this for the long haul. And just like I reminded me about my word for 2021. cultivation, you know, requires a lot of you. And a lot of times when you are cultivating it is trial and error, you know, you may try and cultivate a patch of soil in one part of your yard and recognize that it is not the same quality as in your backyard as it is in your front yard. And you may have to uproot everything and replanting, you might have to go and buy some soil to add to the soil, you may need some nutrients. And in fact, you might even go through the process of planting those seeds and they break through the ground and they die. And you have to cultivate that soil again, you have to turn that soil again, you have to turn that for you again, you have to get down on your knees, day in and day out again. But what I know for sure, and the reason why I saved this lesson for last is because everything truly does come full circle, I did not expect to get choked up with this. But everything really does work together for the good of those who love God, if you are willing to surrender your mess, right? If you are willing to fully trust God. And if you are, my therapist would love to hear this. If you are willing to embrace the process, the good, the bad, the indifferent, that comes with this journey, this bounce back journey, whatever it is that you are bouncing back from and recognizing that as you grow forward, as you’re cultivating or as you’re rebuilding, there may be some things that you have to rebuild more than once there may be some things that you build. And you recognize that that wasn’t it. And that’s okay. That’s why it is so important. I guess this is the bonus lesson. That is why it is so important to invest in your rest. Right, I made that the first episode of the year about how important it is to rest to step away from things to create a space for God to speak to you clearly to create a space for what is most important in your life. And when you’re able and willing to do that is transformative. And so this past year has been transformative for me and I pray that I was able to communicate these lessons that I’ve learned so that they may begin to be or they may reignite the transformation that God is doing in and through you in this season. Regardless of what happened yesterday or last week, last month, or or since the beginning of this year.

It can all still work together for your good everything can come full circle. If you are willing to embrace yourself as a value bank, if you are willing to recognize that inconsistency is a deal breaker and get honest with yourself about how inconsistent you are or have been. If you are willing to accept the truth that being a good steward is the real flex and of course, you have got to you have got to make the main thing the main thing.

So yeah, this is the one year episode. These are my top five lessons. And I am just praying like I said that as I continue to share with you you will continue to share with others and we will all continue to grow in a way that will bring glory to God and if you are looking for support in this growth journey in rolling forward in, excuse me, making 2021 a transformative year for you, then I would love to be your guide and coach on this journey. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it and shout out to God. Ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint also known as your bounce back guide. I am a life and writing coach. And I am here today to share about the power of the command that is today. So today is a unique day. If you are listening on this, the day that I’m sharing this, today is a unique day because today is the only day of the year that is in and of itself a command a declaration. And when I say that what I mean is that Today is March 4 and march fourth is the only day of the year. That is a word that is a complete or that is a complete sentence. And so I wanted to come through this morning and talk to you about marching forth because this is generally the time of the year right, we’re coming to the end of the first quarter, we’re coming into prayerfully what will feel and look like spring right based on the weather and the changing of seasons. And so this is the time where we start to get a little antsy about the the resolutions and the goals and things that we set and we made that we have not been consistent with or follow through with. And so I wanted to bring you a little bit of encouraged this more encouragement this morning, and share with you why now is not the time to give up and why now more than ever, you need to get back up and march 4. And I’m going to share this Scripture with you first it is from Ezra 10 four. And this is the message version. and it simply says this, now get up, take charge we’re behind you don’t back down. And so this is a word specifically for you. If you have been in a space where you have been feeling like you’re growing Where are you been feeling like you’ve been ready to back down you’ve been feeling like even though you know, God has given you a call or charged you to do something, anything and everything that could go wrong is going wrong. And so you have been feeling like you are down you have been feeling like you can’t take charge you’ve been feeling like it’s time for you to back down now is not the time to retreat. Now is the time to march 4. And so I want to share quickly three things that are necessary for you to march 4 and three things that you may be feeling like you lack and or you might not recognize that you lack or that you might not recognize you are not utilizing the full power of and that is why it’s been a challenge for you or it feels challenging for you to march forth. So the first thing Is that you’ve got to have clarity. And if you’ve been following me or been connected to me for a while, or if you know me, you know, clarity is my jam. And the reason is that we so often take clarity for granted, we don’t recognize the power and having clarity. And sometimes people don’t really understand the fullness of what clarity is, in this season, though, what I feel like a lot of us are struggling with is being able to discern the difference between doing the most and doing what’s most important, right, we are challenged, especially because of the internet. And publicly, inconsistently seeing people’s successes, and not their failures that we feel like we need to be doing all of the things all of the time. And so instead of being intentional, and doing one thing with excellence, we feel the need to execute all of these different things at one time, and we are not doing any of them. Excellent, excellent lead. And so I want to encourage you that if you have been lacking clarity, it could be because you’re you’re all over the place, you’re multitasking. But even if you go back to the beginning, when God was created, he creating, he created one thing at a time, there were things that were designated for a specific time and a specific day in the seven days of creation. And so I want you to think about all of the things that you have going on and really give yourself permission, but also challenge yourself to consider what is the one thing that is most important, what is the thing that is suffering, because you are feeling like you need to retreat or you’re feeling like you need to back down. Because of all the clutter and confusion that is surrounding you. It’s weighing you down, it’s making you grow weary in well doing, it could be that you’re lacking clarity, because you’re trying to do the most instead of doing what’s most important. So what is most important for you in this season, that is what this on this day, in this week, you really need to focus on in order for you to march forth, what is the one thing that you can do and do with excellence, because here’s the reality, if you are not executing in excellence on the lowest level, you cannot expect that God is going to elevate you. And so with you marching for if you have to know that you have to start where you are, and do not despise small beginnings. But take that clarity, take that one thing and do it well. And know that God will bless that thing as long as it is in alignment with him, of course, and you will be able to march forth accordingly. Right? Like the Word says, There are people behind you. But because you’re all over the place, they aren’t really sure where or how to support you. And so with your clarity, you will be bringing clarity to others. And you will have clarity about the provision that God has already provided for the vision. But that is a challenge for you because you’re struggling with the clarity. So that’s number one. In order to march forth, you need to have clarity, number two, in order to march 4 is going to take some courage. So it takes courage to decide to focus on the one thing, it takes courage to get up as the scripture says, after you’ve fallen down so many times, and especially if you’ve fallen right in, in air quotes, especially if you fallen publicly, right? If you set a goal if you set out to do something, if you said last year and the year before and the year before, we’re going to be your year if you’ve shared that you’ve been praying and God has affirmed or confirmed a prayer but the manifestation isn’t fully open and available to other people you may be challenged with having the courage to get back up and continuing to march 4 and what you already know. God has told you yes and amen about but men cannot see. And so they are challenging you. And so I want to encourage you today that you know you perform for an audience of one be reminded that validation is for parking and your affirmation has already come from God. So no matter how many times you fall, get back up and get moving. Because there are people behind you there are people supporting you, and there are people in need of what you have, you have to have the courage to keep going. And also, back to that original point. When it comes to choosing making the decision to focus on the one thing and do it excellently. You have to have courage, because oftentimes it means you have to stop doing something right. In order for you to focus on that one thing, you’re gonna have to have the courage to stop, right. You’re also going to have to have the courage to start doing that thing consistently and with excellence because it’s going to require some shifts in your life. Life, people will question people will give you the sad eye, but you have to be courageous and march forth anyway. And in addition, focusing on that one thing, right, deciding to drill down and execute with excellence is a risk. So you have to have the courage to take a risk in order to march 4, and bring to fruition what God has called you to do in this season. And then finally, you have to be committed. Again, I’m gonna go back to Ezra 10, it says, Get up. And this might be something you have to consistently tell yourself over and over again. Now get up it didn’t say get up later than say, tomorrow, get up. It didn’t say, after you mess up all day today get I says now get up. So that means even if you failed this morning, even if you fail an hour ago, 10 minutes ago, get up now, and take charge. And let me be clear in saying that, when you are committed to taking charge, it’s doing the next best thing that you know to do. It’s not you moving into God’s position and stepping out of your own its meaning doing the next next best thing that you know to do. And knowing that there are people behind you the vision for the provision is already there, you have to march 4, and you have to be committed to marching forth. And that commitment comes in that last piece that says don’t back down. That means even when you come up against a mountain, don’t back down, even when it gets harder than you expected it to be. don’t back down even when it feels like people aren’t supporting you don’t back down even when you’ve been doing it for the 90 days, or the six months or the nine months that people told you it was going to take and it still hasn’t shifted the way you expected it to don’t back down March 4, today is a day for you to reset. Today is the day for you to begin again. Right, it’s Thursday, it’s Friday Eve so before you go into the weekend, deciding that you are exhausted deciding that you are ready to quit deciding that you’re just going to give up and you’ll start again next Monday or next month or next quarter or next year. I want you to really consider whether it is that you need to march 4 with more clarity, you need to march 4 with more courage, or you need to march 4 with a more commitment and conviction that this is your season to do the thing this is this your season to become the woman God already showed you that you are this is your season, to have what God has told you you would have in order for you to do those things you are going to have to march 4. And so I will leave you again with this scripture from Ezra 10. Four. In the message version, it says now get up. Now get up. Take Charge, we are behind you. Don’t back down March 4. And I want you to know that you don’t have to do this alone. Right? The Scripture says very clearly, we are behind you. If you know that this is a season that you need to march 4 if you know that this is a season, you really need to be intentional about seeking that clarity, building that courage, having the support and a guide to ensure that you are making the commitment then I strongly encourage you to consider being a part of the next session of the power morning. What is the power morning. It is a 21 day experience with a group of like minded women and myself. Well we get together at 5am.

And really learn the process of prioritizing both yourself and your relationship with God. From the moment that you wake up through that 21 day journey you will get clarity, right you will build the courage and work through your trust issues around really trusting God, really being intentional about your relationship with Him so that you can make the commitment and do the things that he has called you to do. Right. So you will get not only 21 days of coaching, you get access to a great community of women, you get access to a workbook that is chock full of not only resources, but prayer prompts, meditation exercises, physical exercise readings that will support and guide you through the journey. And then you have that ongoing community and support so that where you don’t know what to do, you not only have me as your guy but you have other women who are also seeking God and going to the throne on their own by behalf and also on your behalf to both challenge and encourage you. So I strongly encourage you to take the first step and being able to march 4 to Your resurrection, right? So Resurrection Day is April 4, the power morning starts on March 15, Monday, March 15. And we will be marching forward on that 21 day journey which will end on Resurrection Day. So if you know that there is something that you are working towards there is something that God would have you do, and you need that clarity, that courage and you need to make that commitment or you need to recommit. And you really want to see resurrection power manifest in your life in this season, then I strongly encourage you to grab the link in the Facebook video, if you’re watching there. The link in my bio, if you’re on Instagram, and if you are listening to this on the podcast, and you can grab the link in the show notes to get more information about the power morning and to reserve your spot. We kick off on Monday, March 15. I pray that this word was a blessing for you that it gives you If nothing else, something to think about. How is it that you need to show up in March 4 with more clarity, more courage, more commitment, maybe you need to march 4, with more of all three. And that is all good knowing is half the battle. The next step is to march 4 and take an action. So I look forward to seeing you join myself and other women on March 15 for the power morning and I pray that you will begin to march 4 Now you will now get up. All right, I’m gonna let you get back to your Friday Eve blessings and if you have any questions about anything that I’ve shared, or about the power morning specifically, you know that you can slide through or my DMS or shoot me an email. All right. If you are blessed by this, please share it with someone else. You never know how you might bless someone else by sharing your blessings. Have an amazing day y’all. And you already know I’m going to leave you with this. God is not going to play you but if you are out here in the streets, choosing not to march 4 because you are struggling to have the clarity, courage or commitment when there is help out here for you. Says I promise you are playing your self be blessed.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Herdyne: What it is to truly live. And so the Scripture is it is better to go to a house of mourning than it is to go to, basically a house party for death is the destiny of everyone in the living shall take it to heart. And so what I’ve gotten from that scripture is, we are all going to go through some type of death, whether it is a physical death, a spiritual death, or financial death, whatever death your experience is. But when you go to Homegoing ceremonies, there’s a lesson to be learned. be committed to learning the lesson. You can truly live.

Tiffany: hey, begin welcome home to your bounceback blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best as you thrive on your journey from a beacon. Hey, welcome back to another episode of struggling. Sharing, tips, tools, tea, and I’m running out of gas from Dallas and my friend are here and then I wrote a book all about welcome and shout out to God they ever since. My story, my life and the LIDAR round began traveling forever changed, and as a member of the community, called to teach you to be the same and less broken hearts to heal, so purposeful living can be restored. She believes that happiness and sadness exists in a delicate balance. She is committed to redefining how we as a society understand grief. And she defines grief as being a normal and natural reaction to any loss or change in normalcy. hurting strongly believes the goal is not to allow our unhappiness to overtake the good times the successes and the laughter enjoys in order to maintain our emotional well being. As the founder of the redefining grief, her Dean has built a community of individuals committed to living their best lives, anchored down and purposeful living, despite what life throws at them. Without further ado, a welcome to the podcast, her Dean, and thank you so, so much for being here.

Herdyne: Thank you so much for having me says I’m so excited

Tiffany: so overdue. Now I have given the people your formal bio, but please let us know who is her Dean beyond the bio.

Herdyne: Beyond the Bible, I am an individual that is committed to purposely living by making sure I unwrap the gifts that God has given me and fulfilling the assignment He has called me here to do. And so I am just committed to living this life. Because I am fully aware, can I just say I am fully aware that I will only walk this planet one time. Come on. And so if I have this thing, and I’m getting chills just thinking about it, where I get to walk you one time, baby, I’m gonna work through the mess so that I can get to glory.

Tiffany: Let’s work through some mess on today so that we can help the people get to the glory. I’m so excited for your excitement. And I know because of our time together and what we shared, that you’ve not always been in this place, right? You’ve not always been in the space where you believed that happiness and sadness existed together. So can you tell us a little bit about your journey to getting to this place where you are?

Herdyne: All right. Okay, so my journey of getting to where I am a lot of my mess, right? That I really need a God to help me clean up. It wasn’t that I had the love. I have the love story, right? I have the children. I have the home. I have the car. It was that purpose. It was the craving it was I know God has called me to do something. But what is it? Like I did not want to be one of those individuals that went Six Feet Under and did not open up the gifts that God had given me. And so that just kept me and my husband was like baby it will come and I’m like but I’m putting 2526 it should be here are ready. You know I’m first generation Haitian American.

I’ve gone to college. I’ve done The things my parents told me to do. Why isn’t it here? Yeah, boy, when I told you that Joe was just a rumble in my spirit, I couldn’t sleep. I had anxiety about this thing.

Tiffany: That was at 2526. How long did that go on?

Herdyne: You know what I think 2526 I was in preparing, I was in preparation. I just finished college. I remember telling my husband, when he when he proposed, I will walk down with all the hours you. But that is not going to happen until I get my master’s degree. Just in case. I get pregnant, I don’t want to do school and baby at the same time. That is my story. Mm hmm. And so I remember going in right into getting a master’s degree. coming out with our master’s degree, six months later, I went into a master’s degree program that if you graduated with, with your bachelor’s with a high GPA, and met the criteria, you get to waive off a year and a half. So I went in naki. But you had to be coming, you couldn’t take another job. It was just the master’s degree program. And so I guess, 27 I’m married 28. I have my first child. And I just really did think that, okay, I did everything you got to think about, I’m coming from a family that ingrained in me. They migrated by boat, my mom and dad migrated by boat, so that I can live the American dream. And they said, this is the this is the plan to go to school, when you come out of school, everything is going to work out. You’re going to have the money, you’re going to have the career, you’re going to have the joy Well, I came out of school. Did my first Social Work job that wasn’t the salary? I was hoping not for the loans that I got. If I can just keep it 100 Yeah, then I’m, then I’m on the job. But I’m not happy at that job. Something right. And so I’m like, I begin to wrestle with God. Is this my purpose?

And so I would fluctuate for years going, Okay, I think I’m happy now.

Tiffany: Oh, no, are you happy?

Herdyne: Oh, I think I’m happy now. Oh, no, I happy. But then I felt guilty because I had the husband who love me and supported me, amazing husband, I have these amazing gifts. But the joy to the career wasn’t planning out. And I needed to find my purpose, so that I can find my voice in this world. Too many times, we take on the title of being a wife, or a mom, right? Or taking on the title of being the CEO. But not connected to purpose. purpose was very important to me, because I know at the end of the day, God is not going to ask me. How were you as a mom and a wife? He’s going to ask me, what did you do with the time that I gave you? According to the my assignment?

Tiffany: That’s good. That’s good. And that’s not to say that being a mom and a wife are not assignments, right? Because no, are solely called to serve in those capacities. But you knew there was something missing? Yeah. And so what did you begin to do? When you can no longer withstand the rumbling and the stirring inside of you?

Herdyne: And just began to talk to God, I strongly believe in his whisper. Um, I just begin, I will never forget it clear as day I was driving. And I’m just like, okay, God, what’s next for my life? What am I going to do? Like, I can’t live this way. I can’t live with things I can’t live with my heart racing. I can’t live waking up another day, entertaining a work environment that does not feed my mind, body and soul. Right. And so he answered, he says to me, what about that lady you listen to every Thursday morning. And I go, Patrice Washington.

But God, I’ve never seen her advertise or talk about coaching. I have never heard her do anything. I just started listening to her podcast in January. It’s now March, April. I don’t think I’ve heard her say anything about coaching. And I remember his still voice saying, dm her. Immediately. I stopped what I was doing. I tapped into her DMS and I said, Hello. It’s her Diem, because I’ve been on and on just saying, speaking to her. And I said to you, before I provide business coaching? And she said, Yes, I do. Because at the time, my husband and I had a private practice, but I just wasn’t as involved in the private practice before or after getting the coaching services from Patrice. And she said, Yes, we scheduled I remember, I was obedient. I remember what God said. She said, her rate, we paid it, and I went into coaching. And I felt better. I felt like I had a plan. Now, I felt like he sent me the individual that was going to help me map this thing out. Right? I didn’t know what it was gonna look like I was scared. But I was committed to his word. And after doing that, I remember saying this, I think it was 90 days. I was like, I don’t know if this is enough, Patrice. Ah, have you ever thought about doing like a mastermind class, just like that. And it was me and her at podcast movement. And because at this time, we had already developed, I flew out to Philadelphia, she was out there that year, we met up, we talked and I remember being on that wall after leaving one of the sessions. And I said, Have you ever thought about doing a mastermind class? And she was like, yeah. And then I was like, Well, I’m gonna beat that accountability person, NGO dm, have you started? Have you started? going, and then eventually it manifested. And I spent a year in her mastery and momentum course or year in that mastery course. And then p2p was offered. And that’s how we met. And boy, oh, boy,

Tiffany: What a journey, which I want to be very clear in reiterating that you said it started with your willingness to be obedient to one word from God. You didn’t know what Patrice was going to say, when you got in her dm, you didn’t know what was going to happen. You didn’t know what the price tag was going to be. But you were willing to be obedient. And I think that I really want to reiterate that for anybody who’s listening, especially when it doesn’t make sense. You know, we pray and we expect God to be like, we’ll do this and do this and do this. We don’t necessarily expect for him to say hop in the DM.

Herdyne: Yeah, yeah. Right. And so I did. And in that process, I cried. I just I read, I removed a lot of deadweight.

Tiffany: Let’s talk about that. Because I’m curious, once you got on this path, and you got connected to Patrice, in this dynamic community, what happened that you decided or that God made you aware that you were going to be the chief grief Crusader?

Herdyne: Well, you know, I didn’t decide I’m just always willing to help. And I think something came up within our mastery and momentum group. And Patrice had asked me if I would do a session on grief. And I was like, Oh, sure, no problem. But what I didn’t know is that that was gonna be the night and I still have the photo. That was gonna be the night that God said, Now you’re ready. I have trained you and I can go far as seven years old. I was obsessed with funerals. I would cry if my parents would not take me to a funeral. I just went and I was one of those observing kid that was just quiet during the service, and taking everything in. And so when I think back to that seven year old girl, I think about although that night that I did the retreat, it just it was like crystal last day, the very next day, Patrice said to me and courage said to me, I know why fidence is what you’re doing. But that grief thing. That is what you need to be doing.

Tiffany: And that and again, I want to reiterate because you said you were seven years old. Yeah, that’s what funerals and observing right, observing the grieving that was happening, and I’m sure some celebrating as well. Right. Missing, but all in the midst of grief.

Herdyne: Yes. And so I have Been in training, before I even can put a name on it.

Tiffany: And then this transformational journey which I’m so happy you embarked on, because it’s how we connected and, and this transformation and redefining yourself as the chief grief Crusader, and then being in position and and purpose, to teach people to redefine grief. Can we talk a little bit about the anchors?

Herdyne: Yes, we can. So and just using myself in these anchors, right, think about what did I have to do to really grieve my, my idea of not being connected to my purpose, the very first anchor is truth. I had to tell the messy truth that I wasn’t happy

Tiffany: and say it again, please.

Herdyne: I had to tell the messy truth that I wasn’t happy. And this is

Tiffany: even though like you said you had the husband. The car, the degrees plural?

Herdyne: Yes. Yes. I met milestones that most people will think that I wasn’t supposed to be at the table, but God had another plan. And even what I want, and what I want to say is I had to get, I had to decide that I was going to be committed to looking in the mirror and telling the truth.

Tiffany: Tht’s anchor number one,

Herdyne: that’s anchor number one, anchor number two was I had to then examine my heart. And then in examining my heart, I realized, I don’t know what this is gonna look like. I don’t know where it’s gonna go. I’m heartbroken and devastated. I feel fear. I feel anxiety. But you know what, that’s what my heart is saying. And what am I going to need to do to heal my heart that’s broken around this subject matter.

Tiffany: So is his anchor number two, then where we also begin to look at forgiving ourselves?

Herdyne: anchor number two can be because the grief journey for everybody else looks different, right? You’re grieving grief journey as like your DNA. It cannot be compared. It cannot be used or substituted in any way. And so what I want people to know is this thing called grief is a normal and natural reaction to a loss that we have. And it’s not only put in this box that you only grieve when someone has died. we grieve when there’s a divorce. we grieve when there’s a move. we grieve when there is this current career wrestle, that we’re doing this internal conflict that we’re having. we grieve, friendships, friendships. we grieve workplace environments. Yes. we grieve our business, we grieve our finances. And so we grieve the pet that we’ve even lost. And let me tell you something about grief. Grief is normal. But what is not normal? Nobody’s teaching you what to do when you’re grieving. And so we, we then, because we don’t have the healthy tools, we pacify the emotions and that pacifying emotion may be sex. willingly being in toxic relationships. All right. And so food, having an unhealthy relationship with food.

Tiffany: What about unhealthy relationships with things that seem to be healthy? Like over exercising? Yeah. Indicating right information hoarding.

Herdyne: You got it? Yeah.

Tiffany: So what do we do with with anger with the truth, anger in the heart anger, when we are when we are examining our hearts and we are able to get honest with ourselves and say, You know what, Tiffany, you are spending so much time at the gym because you need to do the things to work through this.

Herdyne: Well, you just you just saved us right into the third anchor. And that third anchor is connection. When you look back at the story that I said about myself, I was obedient to connect In making investment within myself to get the support that I needed for my next level.

Tiffany: So that’s it, right you get somebody examine your heart, and you get the recognition that there is some help you need those connections. Yes. And I know, I know for you, it was very well, it sounds like it was very easy. You prayed. God said it. You dm her. It sounds like it happened overnight. Right. But that wasn’t necessarily what the journey was. And I want whoever’s listening to understand that you’re not saying it’s gonna be like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Herdyne: No, as a matter of fact, I always say, healing does not happen in a sprint. It is a marathon. And you have to train for a marathon day by day.

healing does not happen in a sprint. It’s America marathon, you have to be committed to the marathon. And that healing is saying, I’m going to be committed to the day by day training needed to complete the marathon.

Tiffany: What might some of that day by day training look like? Now I know, you said your grieving process is like your DNA. So what’s going on? For everybody?

Herdyne: Yeah, this is so good. And so what I strongly believe is that oftentimes we have individuals that tell us well, this is what you need to do, this is what you need to do. But finding an individual like a therapist or grief coach, someone that is going to create a plan for you, and then hold you accountable, accountable. I like to do with my clients, what I call mental health tasks. And so I have what I say is my daily calendar. On that calendar. When I look for the month, I look at what did I do mentally for me? What did I do actively do for a healing because I strongly I’ve been talking about it on my podcasts are this year, and one episode is called New Year, same grief. Every year, we go into a new year with the resolution or this is what we’re gonna change. But if you do not spend time, unpacking the dead weight of the soveral in the pain and the heartbreak, baby every year is gonna come by you still gonna be in 1999. Jesus New Year, same grief. And so you really need someone that’s gonna help you map this out and hold you accountable.

Tiffany: Yes. And then you’ve got to be again, you’ve got to be committed,

Herdyne: you have to be committed to like showing up? Sure. Yeah. So in February, I’m so glad because I don’t want to just say this is what you need to do. I’m going to actually, in February, I am doing a 28 day, active healing, giving tips and advice on how you can heal as well incorporate self care on your healing journey. Because healing does not happen just by talking about it. That’s right. healing happens when we decide to put in the work.

Tiffany: Yes, because healing is an action word, right? Hey, yo, Herb? Yes, yes, yes, I love it.

Herdyne: So you want to heal and act and really be active in 2021, a part of your healing process,

Tiffany: join me on the challenge that is going to be on all my social media platforms. But where I really like to play is Instagram, I heard and I will be sure that we link everything in the show notes for those who are interested. And I want to say to know that even if you join after February 1, you can continue with the journey. Yes, then you can go back and repeat some of those steps because like you said, it’s a daily, yes, during It doesn’t mean after the 28 day.

Herdyne: It’s a daily, it’s a daily. And then I would say my fourth anchor is that fake anchor. And there’s a reason I didn’t put faith as number one because I feel that sometimes as Christians, we hide behind the faith, and we are scared to go to God with our ugly truth. We’re scared to go to God with our heartache, and we’re scared to go to

God.

Because we believe that somehow he’s judging us. And that connection maker I think I need to say this because this is vital. We need support and community that will see us and hear us without ever judging us. Yes. And too many times we are trying to connect with individuals that are judgmental. And so that faith anchor is saying okay, God, I’ve done the work of telling the truth. I’ve talked to you about the messy stuff. connect to the person you’ve assigned to help me through this process. And now I’m going to anchor down the anchoring. I’m thinking about when you think about an anchor, I just heard a sermon that just really explained all my anchors when I think about, I think it’s pastor Todd Michael, who said this, or he said, you do not heal on the shallow side. You got to be willing to go deep. Yes. And so your healing has to be you have to be willing to go deep. And really, that takes a trained professional to help you go deep.

Tiffany: Yes, in order to work through that, you got to have that faith,

Herdyne: yes, that you need that faith, you need that faith and, and then that last thing is where everybody wants to be, is that restoration anchor, everybody wants to be restored. Everyone, buddy wants to know that God has given them the grace, and the power, and the wisdom and the knowledge to heal. Or what I’m just saying, you can be restored and still triggered. But the difference is, you have done the work of telling the truth. You have done the work in actually spinning time to put things that are healthy mechanisms for you that you no longer need the pacifying behaviors to get you through.

Tiffany: Yes, yes. Can we sit here with this restoration for a minute, because, you know, we’re in this series about redefining ourselves, and, and there is great, there is grief that comes with this process, right? Because you got to do that serious reflection, you’ve got to get to the truth. And whether it is forgiving yourself, forgiving someone else, or if you’re honest, forgiving God, there’s some work in that heart space that has to be done for you to get to restoration. And what I know to be true with some of my clients, and I’m sure you can relate, and if I’m honest, even on my own journey, sometimes we want to skip the struggle, Hey, come on somebody, sometimes we want to skip the struggle. So we don’t look like we’re grieving. I’m wearing the mask.

Herdyne: I think when you skip the struggle, you skip the opportunity to learn the lesson, you skip the opportunity to experience the growth, and you skip the opportunity to anchor down knowing your Creator had you the whole entire time

Tiffany: the whole entire time.

Herdyne: And so I think when you try to rush to restoration, you really are skipping this crucial part with faith, that the next time you are triggered, because this life isn’t normal. But the requirement of Living it is the next time you have this sad experience happen. You can say back. But God got me through this last experience, right? Because you anchored in him.

Tiffany: And I am a firm believer that there is no growth without grieving. when you are restored and you have one growth spurt, if you will, there will be another opportunity to grow and the breathing is going to come again. And that growth might be spurred by the loss of a person. Like you said, it could be the loss of a job. It could be the loss of you know caring for little babies and realizing that your child is going to grow up. And so when we get to a place hurting when we feel like the growth in the grieving is hurting too much. And we want to stunt our own growth. Which one of those anchors is it that we have to really hold on to or really dig into so that we can push through,

Herdyne: I will go back and say this that is different for everybody. But for me it was going back to the truth and why I say the truth because the truth sets you free. Now, the truth is no longer shackled. The truth is no longer putting you at a place where you are shackled emotionally. I think everybody’s trying to get to success. Everybody’s trying to increase the bank account. But when you increase the bank account and get on to that level at says that you thought you needed because you didn’t tell the emotional truth and did the work of healing, you’re not going to enjoy that journey either.

Yet again. Grief has robbed you a second time. And so we have to decide, are we going to do the work now? I think when you decide you are going to sit in every grief box in everything that you need to come to a place of Completion with you then propel yourself forward in life. It’s like a slingshot experience. Yes, it looks like you’re going back. But baby. When you get that thing, it propels you. It propels you in life at a much faster pace than ever before.

Tiffany: And this when you when you are able to embrace these experiences, knowing that is when you are in the place that you speak of where happiness and sadness or grief and joy can coexist, right?

Herdyne: We have to be okay, with experiencing true joy. And I really do believe you cannot experience true joy until you allow yourself to process what sadness is really real sadness really is you Why am I saying this?

Why like, Why are you saying this Hewerdine I know what happiness is. But if happiness to you is defined by the bag that you wear, the clothes that you wear, the car that you drive, you don’t know joy, you know, a masquerade of joy. You know, the mask of a fake and, you know, stuck in as if you are happy. I’m talking about the joy that is inside of you, that makes your skin glow?

Yes, I’m talking about a joy, that when you walk in the rule your haters can take instead. I’m talking about that joy. I’m talking about a joy, that you are not defined by your sadness. You are defined by redefining the grief in your life and making it your anchor that is going to propel you in life with grace. See, oftentimes in our healing process, we are not giving ourselves the opportunity to to grieve with grace. But honoring the journey of that pain,

Tiffany: grieve with grace. And that starts like you said, with that truth anchor and getting honest with yourself. Like what how do you really feel first and foremost?

Herdyne: Um, how do I feel?

Tiffany: No, like asking yourself that question. How is in the midst of this grief?

Herdyne: Uh huh. And you know what? Sometimes you cannot answer those questions by yourself. Right?

Tiffany: You literally need someone to help support you in that journey. And that’s why sometimes I say I’m a grief advocator. But when I’m in sessions, I let them know I am your emotional guide may be blind right now. But if you trust the process, I am your emotional guide. But you got to be committed to brokenness, you got to be committed to allowing yourself to be broken, so that the creator can put you back together.

Tiffany: And that right there is is is is the redefining yourself journey in a nutshell. wanna drop the mic? Hewerdine? Thank you. Now I know that we can get up with you in the grief Crusaders community, I know that we can listen to you weekly on the podcast. Do you have? I know you haven’t written your book yet. But is there a book that you recommend people on the journey to restoration as you call it, read or refer to on the journey as a companion to all that you are offering.

Herdyne: I would recommend the book called grief recovery. It’s called grief recovery. And I would also I will also let I have never sent this out outside of my writing coach. I am in the process now of writing. Our journal guide, a 30 day journal guide that would allow people to walk through these anchors and begin that process for themselves. Well, I

Tiffany: knew it was coming even before You said it, I knew. I knew it was inevitable. Yeah, that God will not let you keep all of this to yourself or require you to be somewhere for people to get what they need to get. So we won’t be on the lookout for that. And like I said, I will make sure that everybody can find the podcast, the 28 day journey that you’re going to be doing, and all of the other greatness that you have available to support them as the emotional guide and grief crews. Chief grief Crusader, I stand corrected. Is there one quote, or any words of encouragement, you want to leave the community with?

Herdyne: One of my one of the eye opening scriptures that I would say will help really watch this is have been this seven year old girl, my quest as a seven year old girl was to be deaf. And by the time I was in my teens, I said, I’m going to be death, by leaving a legacy for the next generation of what it is to truly live. And so the Scripture is, it is better to go to a house of mourning than it is to go to basically a house party for death is the destiny of everyone in the living shall take it to heart. And so what I’ve gotten from that scripture is, we are all going to go through some type of death, whether it is a physical death, a spiritual death, a financial death, whatever death your experience is. But when you go to Homegoing ceremonies, there’s a lesson to be learned, be committed to learning the lesson. You can truly live.

Tiffany: Amen. And again, she drops the mic, thank you so much. ordain, I’m so glad that we were finally able to have this conversation, I know that it’s going to be a blessing to many, I can’t wait to re listen to it. There are some gems for myself that I need to make note of. But I’m eternally grateful for you for not only being here and sharing but for the work that you do. And for what you’ve already taught me.

Herdyne: Thank you. You know, I cannot do this alone. It takes really a sisterhood. It takes a community that would allow me to be on your mind what I call whenever I have these opportunities to grief, Mike, to really help individuals get unlocked, so that they can truly live. Yes. Well, thank you, Sis, you’re welcome.

Tiffany: Thank you. I’m over here stumbling over my words, because I’m just so floored by all the gems that her Dean dropped and share with us today. And I am praying that you were as blessed by this conversation as I was, if you were I would love it. If you would leave a review. When you do you create an opportunity for another beacon like yourself to find the podcast and be blessed by it. You can also grab a screenshot of this, share it on your social Don’t forget to tag me at the Tiffany Huff. And of course, I will leave you with this. God is not going to play you but if you think that you can get on the pathway to purpose without redefining how you look at grief and how it is connected to growth. I promise you are plaguing your self. Be blessed!

It’s time for you to begin to use what is in your hands right there where you are.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Hey, beacon, hey, I am so excited to be building the blueprint with you this week. I’m excited because we’ve wrapped up this series on, you know, the lies we tell ourselves. And I hope that in listening to those episodes, and our guests, that you were able to get honest with yourself, and recognize the lies that you’ve been telling yourself and decide that you are no longer going to sabotage yourself, or do yourself and those who are called to serve a dis service by continuing to live by those lies. And so today, I have a question for you. And I want you to grab your journal, if you haven’t grabbed your journal already, if you have not been bringing your journal to these podcast episodes, which are like mini coaching sessions, then I need you to get that together, hit pause, grab your journal, because I have a question for you today. And I really want you to take the time to answer this question and answer it honestly. And so here’s the question. Can you introduce me to your future self? Can you introduce me to your future self?

Yes. Let me tell you why that is the question. So here we are. second month of 2021. And it is around this time of the year when the resolutions start to fall to the wayside. And those old habits begin to resurface when things we said we were leaving in 2020 somehow find their way out of the closet out of our wallets, back into the contacts list in our phones, if we’re honest. And so I want you to give yourself permission for the next 20 minutes or so that we are together to introduce me to your future self. And before you start to introduce me to your future self, I want to share with you one of the challenges that comes with embracing your future self, right it is this idea that you have to get to a certain destination, or you have to accomplish a certain thing. Or you have to be a certain way. Right, you have to lose a certain amount of weight, all of the lies we were talking about all of these things before you can embrace and allow yourself to be the woman that God is telling you, He created you to be. It’s not about the destination. The reality is that you need the clarity about who your future self is. And then you need the courage to become her now. And I want to demonstrate this by a divine download that I received from God last week. So I was getting ready for bed. I was in the bathroom. And I don’t know I guess this is a sign of getting old because I now spend quality time in the bathroom. Just sitting there pondering so many different things. Sometimes talking to God sometimes talking to myself, but I digress. On this particular night. I don’t think I was talking to myself or God I was just kind of decompressing as I prepared to get into bed. And God interrupted my thoughts. And he said to me, you know, Tiffany, part of the reason why you’ve been feeling the way you’ve been feeling, mind you I didn’t tell him I was feeling any type of way. But he gets in your business like that. He said, part of the reason why you’ve been feeling the way you’ve been feeling is because you are so focused on getting there. And he said, You don’t have to get there to do what I’ve called you to do. And he brought me or he gave me this vision of myself in an airport. And I can see this airport very clearly. And he told me, he said, You’ve been in this airport, and your flight has been delayed and detoured over and over again. And every time the attendant comes to the counter, to announce that another flight is coming in, or that a flight is going to be taking off, you are the first one at the counter, saying Is it my turn, is my name at the top of the list? Am I still going to be on standby, I’ve been here for so long, and I’m ready to go, I have so much to do when I get to where I’m going. And because of what is going on with this airport. And these flights and this pandemic, I’ve been here much longer than I have anticipated, I haven’t slept properly, I can’t get comfortable here, I want to take off my shoes, you know, I am on this rant with this attendant. And the attendant again tells me Well, you know, you’re still on standby, we will see. And so I do the walk of shame, with my bags and my laptop bag back to the seat where I was sitting. And what God showed me as I sat down is you need to do what I’ve told you to do in the airport. Now I’m saying the airport with air quotes, right? Because all of us are not literally in an airport. However, we all spend extreme amounts of time, in a certain space. In a certain space in our minds, or in a certain space, where we feel like we can’t do because of where we are, all of us have spent exorbitant amounts of time thinking that when we get to set place, we will be able to do whatever God has called us to do. And what God showed me during that vision is that there are plenty of seats in the airport. And there are places where I can put my bag down, there are places where I can plug my laptop in and my phone and to charge it. And in fact, there are people in that airport that need what he has given me to serve with. There are people in that airport, who are waiting to hear what I have to say. However, because I’m so focused on the destination, I am missing out on opportunities to walk in my destiny, right where I am. And I’m willing to bet that this is or has been true for you as well. And part of the reason is that you have not begun to do the work necessary to not only introduce others to your future self right, not only introduce others to how you can serve them, how you can help them what God has given you how he intends to move in and through you. Right, you haven’t introduced yourself to yourself. You haven’t fully accepted who you are, according to God, as you said, you are yourself. And so if that is the case, how can you introduce yourself to others? And that is why I started this episode with the question, can you introduce me to your future self? And so I want you to begin answering this question by considering what is the destination that you are focused on? Where are you going? What goals are you setting to get to a certain place, right? And this doesn’t have to be an actual location per se. But where are you working to get to? Right? What is it going to take for you to get there? And when you get there, how will you serve? How will you impact others? And if you want to take it a step further, who are the others you will impact? These are the questions that need to be answered in order for you to introduce me and yourself to your future self. And then when you have those answers, I want you to really spend some time meditating and praying over them. And then I want you to look at what you can do right now, where you are. And specifically, I want you to consider whether or not the people that you put down on your paper are ruining your journal, or who you are going to serve. Or where you are right now, who’s in the airport with you, that does not know what you are preparing to do, what you’ve already been prepared to do, and how you are called to serve them. who haven’t you introduced your future self to other than yourself. And consider the disservice you are doing those people, because they may not necessarily be waiting on a physical flight, they may be waiting on what you have to give them to share with them to teach them, they may be waiting on that in order for them to take off. In order for them to be elevated off the ground in order for them. To get off a stalling runway. They may need you to help them build momentum. Are you with me, you are not waiting on a flight to take off. You are simply waiting to get familiar with yourself, you’re waiting for the clarity that you need to actually be your self so that you have the courage to get off the runway. See, the final thing that God showed me. And that vision of the airport scene was that it has very little to do with the pandemic that is happening across the globe. That these flights are being delayed and detoured. It has more to do with the personal pandemics that you are dealing with or not within yourself. The lies you tell yourself, your lack of clarity, right, your unwillingness to be courageous and to move through the fear, to grow through the fear. And then also, when you know who you are and what God has called you to do. And you’re consistently taking those steps, he will give you the discernment to recognize that is not that you will never get there is that there are some things he is going before you to prepare. So that when you get there, the people you are called to serve and bless and impact on the other side of the baggage claim are prepared for you that the land is ready for you. Right? That the people he speaks of choosing you to serve, are ready for how you will serve them. And so if he has you in a place where you feel like you’re on hold, where you feel like you’re ready to go, only you’re in the wrong place to do the work that I need you to look around. I need you to sit down. I need you to learn to be content where you are without being complacent. And part of being able to be content without being complacent is getting familiar with your future self and embracing her now. embracing your gifts now understand the abundance of what is in your hands now. Knowing that there is a specific reason why some of your bags again air quotes, were checked with baggage claim and some of them you are carrying them around with you everywhere you go. In that airport, in that holding space.

What’s in those bags. What you have in those bags, what you have in your hands are everything you need to begin to introduce me and others to your future self. And that means that you can begin to do the work right where you are. Right now, as you wait for your flight to arrive, as you wait for your flight to take off, there is work to be done in the waiting. There are people for you to serve in the waiting, there are blessings for you to bestow upon others in the waiting. You’ve got to be willing to shift your perspective, right? You’ve got to be willing to accept and understand that delays and detours do not equal defeat. and be prepared to serve every person you meet, regardless of where you are, regardless of the circumstances. Can you introduce me to your future self, I would love to meet her. I would love to see the work that she is going to do to transform the world. And in fact, I would love to see that work begin today. And so again, I am challenging you to answer those questions. Where are you going? Where are you focused on going? Where are you trying to get to? What goals have you set for this month for this week for this year? To get you from where you are to where you’re going? And who is there for you to serve? And how are you going to serve them? Now please hear me out. This is not about you starting a business necessarily. This is not necessarily about your professional life. The answers to these questions are very specific and personal for you. That’s why I said you need your journal because you need the time to do this work. You’ve got to get clear on where you’re going and why. so that you can understand that where you are now is equally as important, if not more important than the destination where the flight you’re waiting on will take you and you’ve got to understand that there are some people in the airport in the space where you are, that are waiting for you to serve for their flight to take off you in essence, or the flight they’re waiting for. And I am confident that until you do the work where you are in this layover space, in this meanwhile space, your flight is not going to arrive, you will not begin to ascend, you are not going to see yourself soaring the way God has intended you too, because you haven’t done the work on the ground level to prepare. And sometimes doing the work in advance right? Is the preparation. Think about it. doctors do years of residency right? Before they be given before they become a doctor. Right? Doctors practice medicine, they do the work before they are necessarily able to do the work. And the same is true for you. And listen, you don’t have to do this alone. You don’t have to go through this process alone. I would love to work with you. I would love to be your coach and guide you. support you and of course challenge you to grow through this season. So that you can, in fact, take off in 2021 so that you don’t spend the entirety of this year, feeling stuck feeling confused, feeling like you’ll never get to where you know God has told you. He is taking you. For you. The first step may be to put your bags down and recognize that what is in your hand is your phone or your laptop with this voice of mind coming through it. And knowing that in your hands is an opportunity for you to be helped. I am here just like those people are waiting for you to serve them. I am waiting to serve you. And if you are ready to start this process, if you are ready to put an end to the delays and the detours and really get in position and be prepared for when your flight is going to take off.

Then let’s get on a breakthrough call. Let’s work together to see how The two of us can make the magic necessary for you to begin to soar. The link to work with me is in the show notes. And your breakthrough session is no obligation, the time specifically for us to chat about where you’re going. It’s time for you to introduce me to your future self. God is not going to play you. But if you are out here in the streets, pretending to be anyone other than who God has already showed you. He called you to be doing anything other than what he’s already shown you. He’s called you to do. I promise this. You are playing yourself. Be blessed
