Hey, hey beacon, just wanted to let you know that over the next week we are doing a countdown of the top three episodes of 2020. I would love to hear from you. What do you think the top three episodes were? Even more specifically, what about your number one episode? Listen, these episodes are so awesome and perfect for this season of reflection. So even if you heard them in the past, I think it would do you good to hear them. Again, grab your journal, and tune in. Hey, begin welcome home to your bounce back blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best as you thrive on your journey from setback to success. I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death, healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it and shout out to God. Ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. The title of today’s episode is put your head down. And this is a specific command that I received from God toward the end of 2019. So let me give you some perspective. Probably midway through 2019, right around my new year because my birthday is in June. So right around my birthday in 2019. I started feeling really discouraged. I was very distracted. I was doing a whole lot. And yeah, I constantly felt like I was in quicksand. Like I couldn’t get my footing. Like no matter how hard I tried, I wasn’t moving higher. And I recognized and I knew for sure that God did have and was preparing me for elevation. But no matter what I did, I was just not making the progress that I expected to write. And so I was crying out I was seeking God because I was growing weary in doing good. And I know that the word says do not grow weary in doing good, right. And so I was seeking out I was calling on God, I was trying to figure out what was going on, you know. And what I know for sure is that on this bounce back journey, if you don’t keep that direct connection with your source, you will find yourself growing weary. And so basically, one day in my quiet time while I was crying out, wining and writing, God clearly said to me, Tiffany, put your head down. And I was like, What do you mean? And he was like, put your head down. Focus on what is right in front of you. And let me deal with everything else. And I have to be honest, this was very challenging for me. And in fact, I’m still being stretched because of what he told me at that time. So once I embraced it, and because I was so exhausted, I had grown so weary. When he released me to put my head down, I was like, Okay, let me just drop some balls. And I did it very abruptly. I went silent on my social media pages for my business. I made an announcement to my email subscribers, that I quit the weekly love letter, which was a weekly devotional slash letter that I sent out to my subscriber every week for four, four or five years.

And I also eased into putting in into coffee and clarity and coffee and clarity was a monthly at one point twice monthly gathering for women that I did. And it was a fellowship. It was a leadership development. It was a place where people connected and made new friends and religious groups Through and challenged each other on this journey. And initially, I moved it from monthly to quarterly. But by the time God gave me the word to put my head down, I decided that the final session of coffee and clarity would be in December of 2019. And so there were a lot of things that I have been doing for a very long time. And when I say a very long time, I mean, in the grand scheme of how long I’ve been in business, and really walking out my calling the way God had been instructing me to. And so those things were all things that I had been building and growing, and working to perfect, honestly, so that God would get the glory and I was really exhausted from them. And I can be 100% transparent, and say that part of the reason why I was exhausted with what God was calling me to do, part of the reason why I was too exhausted, to continue to execute with excellence, is because I was struggling to communicate, what I felt was the value associated with what I was providing in each and every one of those spaces. And I also was challenged by the fact that God was releasing me from some of the people I have been serving, and calling me out to serve a very specific group of people within the space that I was in, right. And so what happened was, as I was releasing the things, and the pressure decreased, what happened was, I went into a serious space of grieving. And I was grieving because I felt like God, you know, I’ve been building this for years, I’ve been working on this, I’ve been diligent, I’ve been consistent. And now you’re telling me to put my head down, and release it, and everyone around me is succeeding, right, quote, unquote, everyone around me is being elevated. And for some reason, you keep telling me to start again. And I really couldn’t make sense of it, right. And God had to remind me of the beauty in the process of growing through things with him, right. And the way he explained it, to me was in the perspective of looking at a tree right sometimes. Sometimes we have to release beautiful things. And a tree nature is a perfect illustration of this truth. So in the fall, when the leaves start to become yellow, and red, and sometimes purple, and orange, and to me they are at their most beautiful point.

When they get to that most beautiful point, they are released. The beautiful leaves are the ones that we are sweeping and raking up and putting into garbage bags. They are the ones that precede the season of quote, unquote, ugliness, if you will, right. The season when the tree for lack of a better way of saying it is putting its head down, right. In the winter, when the trees head is down. When there are no leaves on its branches, a tree looks barren. And in many cases, the tree looks ugly. But the reality is in that season, the tree is being prepared to do what it was created to do. And that is provide oxygen right to give life if the tree was not willing to release those beautiful leaves, right? If we thought trees out here in these streets running around trying to pick up those beautiful leaves. They would spend the season when they are supposed to be at rest and being nurtured and being prepared for the new leaves to grow. They would interrupt the cycle of life that is necessary for the trees to manifest what they were created to manifest and I hope you are following along with me there, meaning that I had to make peace with releasing beautiful things and embrace the season with my head down so that God could do the work in me necessary. theory to prepare me to bring life and give life to what was to come. And I really want to encourage you with this because, you know, recently when I was thinking about this and reflecting about sharing this, I got in my feelings, because you know, I’m in this space now where I’m starting again, right, where a lot of what I’m doing is much more refined, praise God, and clear to me. But also at the same time, I can see I’ve been considering how much I had to release. And the fact that I felt like I was starting over. But I had to be reminded that a 100 year old tree, when it releases those beautiful wing leaves is not starting over, is preparing for new life, at 100 200 years old. And the same is true for you, if you’re in a season where God has told you to put your head down, or he has told you to release some beautiful things be encouraged. And I really want to share three of the things that he reminded me of in this season of putting my head down, and I think it will encourage you as well. And the first is everything has an expiration date. Right? We are born on a certain date, we expire on a certain date food expires. You know, credit cards expire, coupons expire, everything has an expiration date. And, you know, the word says as there is a season for everything, right? But the challenge is being able to accept that the expiration date happens, maybe before you’re ready to release it, you know how it is when you go into a store and you have a coupon. And you are about to get so much for so little. And then you get to the register, and they say, Oh, this coupon is expired. That doesn’t mean that what you got what you came to get, isn’t still valuable isn’t still necessary for your life, it just means that the way you are going to receive it is different, it looks different, and is going to have a different price tag, right, it’s going to cost you something different. And so accepting that expiration, or excuse me, accepting that everything has an expiration date is going to cost you something, but it’s also going to grow you that’s number one, number two, you have to know the difference between your mission and your vision, right. And what that really means is what I struggled with what I was challenged with was God had given me this big vision, right? And when he would give me certain parts of it, I would assume right? Or I would interpret sometimes the revelation to me that I was to implement immediately. But that’s what happens when we get ahead of God. Sometimes God gives you the more of the vision that you can manifest in the in the right now. But what you have to do is do the mission work and the mission is the work that you are doing now to get to the vision, right. And we have to be able to discern the difference between what is the mission right now in this moment? And what is the vision for the future? Right?

How does the mission the work that we’re doing now connect to where we’re going. And I’ll be honest, you know, God doesn’t have to give us the entirety of the vision, he could consistently give us mission after mission after mission to build up to where he will have us go or what he will have us doing in certain seasons, he does do that. So when he gives you the big the bigger vision. First, you need to know that with the revelation comes responsibility, right? You have to care for that vision properly. You have to nurture it properly. And in order to do that you have to maintain that connection with God so that you can get and maintain the discernment on how to steward that vision. And what that looks like is the work that you’re doing. Now the mission work right. And because I got got a greater understanding of some of the bigness of the mission. In the meantime, I tried to begin to implement everything and some of it It wasn’t time. And because it wasn’t time I was distracted by things that were taking away from the mission that I was supposed to be focused on in that season. And so God had to remind me to put my head down, he had to remind me that this was the season to release certain things so that I could be prepared to manifest what was next for the vision in his due season. And that leads to number three, and that is that dates on a calendar do not determine seasons and shifts in our lives. God does. Right. So even on the calendar, it says the first day of winter, it says the first day of spring, the first day of summer, but you might have some blooming happening in the season that is spring for you, right? God may be doing a new thing for you. And a season that doesn’t line up for spring on the regular calendar. And so you can’t get caught up in what the world what have you think is happening in a certain season? And call into question what God is telling you, the season you are in, right? You have to qualify everything you see by what you believe. You cannot qualify what you believe by what you see. Embrace that God is the one who determines the season that you’re in, and the shifts that are necessary for you to stay in alignment with your assignment in those seasons. And this could even be applicable to the way you share your story how you tell your story. And when right? When we share parts of our story, our stories don’t end because we are still living right. So there are certain things that are for certain seasons, and other things that God What have you reserved for other seasons, but you have to stay connected with him in order to know what is necessary when. So what I had to learn or what I had to do to be obedient in this season. With my head down was Be courageous, right? Be courageous enough to trust God, and know that what he was calling me to, and why he was calling me away from in this season was exactly what he knew was necessary. And I can be honest, and I want to be honest. And I want to remind you that the work that I was doing was not the only beautiful thing that I had to release or make some shifts with right, there are some relationships, even now that I’m coming out of this season with my head down, he is still revealing to me some beautiful things that I have to release. And it’s challenging, because again, they are not bad things, they are good things. But for where he is preparing me to go, good things are not enough. Everything needs to be a God thing. And if he can’t trust me on the lower levels to execute with excellence, then I can’t expect him to elevate me any higher. And the same is true for you. And so if you’re in this season, if you’re in a space where you have your head down where God is challenging and calling you to release some beautiful things, if God is challenging and calling you and teaching you to embrace grief, so that you don’t stunt your own growth, there are three things I want to challenge you and give you some foresight about that you must be courageous about or you must be courageous enough to do. And the first thing is you have to be courageous, courageous, excuse me enough to stop doing certain things, right. And that’s part of the releasing of those beautiful things. There are some things even though great, even though other people enjoy them. In fact, you know, people are still saying like, when’s the next coffee and clarity I miss coffee and clarity and there was nothing wrong with coffee and clarity, per se. But God decided that the season was up. Does that mean it’s over forever? I’m not sure but in this season, he has told me that coffee and clarity is to stop and so I had to have the courage to do that to stop doing that and not take on the burden of other people’s thoughts or opinions about that not be distracted or discouraged by other people’s thoughts or opinions of that because delayed obedience and slow obedience are still disobedience and in this season with my Head down, I want to be wholly obedient to what God has for me, and for what he has called me to do. So you have to be willing to stop doing something with courage when God calls you to. The second thing is you have to be courageous enough to start doing something. And again, I can be honest, after I shut everything down. And it was in this season with my head down and really focusing on being famous at home first really focusing on hearing from God and realigning with him. And because this is not the first time I’ve had to make a shift, or a pivot with the work that I’m doing, I was a little bit leery about starting something else, you know, I was a little bit distracted by, again, what other people might say or think she started over again, she’s doing something new again.

But I decided, I made the conscious choice, to be obedient, and let God handle the rest. And so the relaunching of my podcast, this podcast, the bounce back blueprint was part of what I was hesitant to do. I had a podcast in the past. I was not consistent with it, though, I had great content, because it came straight from God. I wasn’t consistent with it. And again, my expectations of the work that I was doing with that podcast caused me some frustration. And so I was leery to start it again. But I had to be courageous, because it’s what God has called me to do. So I want you to consider, you know, if you’ve had to put your head down, what is God calling you to stop doing? And what is he calling you to start doing. And the beauty of it is that when we release those beautiful things, even if he does not immediately reveal to you what you’re supposed to start doing right, even if your harvest or your season of growth doesn’t appear visually to be happen, happening, immediately embrace it, embrace the time when you have no leaves on your trees, when no one is necessarily bothering you when no one is, in your space, right when you aren’t distracted. And you can focus completely and wholly on preparing, right? embrace the season with your head down. Before he reveals what he needs for you to start. Because, you know, like I said, with revelation comes responsibility. And so once he tells you, you got to move. And then the final thing is that he reminded me through the season is that you have to be courageous enough to take a risk. And you might be thinking, Well, you know, the thing he told me, he told me to start is a risk. And that might be true. But what I know for sure is that when you take one leap of faith, you are simply preparing for the next leap. And so if you started what he told you to start, or if you are in progress, you’re working on it, do not be surprised if he calls you to take a risk. And for me it was making an investment into what he’s calling me to do for this next season. And I’ve made investments before, I think it’s important to make investments into your business into yourself for personal and spiritual development. It is necessary it has been transformational and life changing.

For me, however, this investment wasn’t necessarily planned. There were other things that could have taken priority over this investment in this season for myself or my family, but but I knew that God was calling me to make this leap. And I couldn’t be happier that I was obedient and that I did take the risk. And because I was obedient when he told me to stop because I was obedient. When he told me to start because I was obedient and taking the risk. My story is now having even more impact than it would have had had I decided to clean to those things that were beautiful. Had I decided to remain distracted. Had I decided that it wasn’t time for me to put my head down Right, it wasn’t at the very end of the year, which is usually a time when I’m preparing for reflection and making plans. No, this happened mid year, put my head down mid year. And I recognize now that it was necessary, right? Growing Pains are real. Growing Pains are real grief is real. And grief is not only something we grieve when someone dies, we have grief when our seasons change when our lives shift. And so I really want to challenge you in this season, if God is calling you to put your head down, if God is calling you to release some beautiful things, Be courageous enough to embrace the process. And be courageous enough to embrace your need for help. If you need help through this process, I would love to be your guide as you grow through this season. And get focused with putting your head down, being obedient, and really walking in your purpose walking out your calling, stepping out on faith, so that you can be do and have all that God has called you to and 2021 and beyond. So in case you missed it, I am right now doing $97 coaching sessions. And in fact, I am doing the manifest and a month coaching program for 497. And that is five coaching sessions, which is inclusive of really working through your vision, breaking down all of the barriers that have kept you struggling, developing your plan, not only for the first month, but for you to make 21 your best year yet. And then making sure that within that first 30 days you are accomplishing something to help you build momentum in your manifestation. And so if you’re ready to put your head down, and you want some guidance along the way, I’d love to work with you, you can grab the link in the show notes and schedule your breakthrough session so that we can make sure that working together will be right for you. And for me, that is bit.li slash your bounce back guide. I hope that you have enjoyed the number three episode in our top three episodes countdown, and you can stay tuned for episodes number two and number one, I would love to hear your prediction for what the top two episodes will be. And of course if you have not already, you can leave a review. When you do you create an opportunity for other vegans to find this podcast and be blessed by what is being shared. I will leave you with this. Of course. God is not going to play you but if you refuse to be obedient and put your head down when he determines it is the right season. I promise you are playing yourself be blessed.

So if you’re interested, if you want to work together, if you’re ready to step into your purpose, reclaim your life and your voice, then grab the link in the show notes, which is bit.li slash your bounce back guide. Let’s hop on a breakthrough call. And let’s work together to make 2021 your best year yet. And of course, if you have not already make sure you leave a review. Because when you do you create an opportunity for other women to find this podcast and find the community and get their bounce back on. Okay. Now today we are talking about changing your life you yes beacon, you have the power to change your life. And in order to do it, it comes down to one thing, if you don’t have your journal already grab it because I want you to make sure that you write this down. I want to change my life. I’m going to change my life. And here is what I need to do. You ready? You got your journal? I need to decide. That’s right, I see you with a blank stare on your face thinking what you thought I was going to say something profound, perhaps a one liner that has a rhyme in it. Because you know, I’m infamous for that. No, what you need to do, if you are ready to tap into the power that is within you to change your life is you need to decide. It’s that simple.

There is so much power in you making a decision. Now I know you’re probably thinking, it’s not that simple tip. Actually, though it is. What we’re going to dig into today, though, is three reasons why you’ve been challenged to make said decision. Okay. So don’t put your pen down yet stay with me. The first reason I find that a lot of my clients struggle with making a decision to change their lives. And this may be true for you is because she lacks clarity. So it’s much it’s very easy to say you want to change your life. But if you don’t know what you want it to become, then it’s challenging to decide to become something you don’t know you want to become right. It’s like you get into the car. And you say you want to go on vacation but you don’t have a destination. If you don’t have a destination, then you’re just going to be driving around until you run out of gas. And in fact, you might go in circles and so if you’ve been feeling like You are going in circles that no matter what you try, no matter what goal you set, no matter how much time you quote, unquote, invest how many books you read, you aren’t able to see change. And even more specifically, you’re not seeing lasting change, you’re not making progress, you find that the goal you set in 2017, you’re also setting in 2018, and 2019. And in fact, you are going to set that goal again, for 2021. It’s likely because you haven’t taken the time to get clear, right? So you decide that you want to change your life with no direction or idea, first and foremost from God about who he has called and created you to be. So I want you to spend some time as you are in this season of reflecting, considering, who am I, right? Who am I becoming? Who is my future self? What does she eat? What does she drink? Where does she work? What is her favorite thing to wear, to read and listen to? Who was she serving? How is her life impacting others? What is the legacy she is going to leave, you can’t commit to changing into something or someone you don’t know. Or you don’t see, right? So you have to decide to get clear. That’s first and foremost, the second place, or I find that my clients are struggling, or with being courageous, right, or the fear, associating associated, excuse me, with deciding to change, so afraid of failure, perhaps even afraid of success, not courageous enough to withstand what other people may say, or think or project as a result of the changes she’s making. Right. So if you are constantly concerned about what others are going to say about your decisions, or your commitments, or the boundaries you set, then you will find yourself in a habitual cycle of fear keeping you stuck, fear stopping you, and being debilitating. And I’ve been there, I find I have found myself more times than I would like to admit, in a space where I was loving others more than I loved myself, I was more concerned about their health and well being than I was about my obedience to God. And the Word tells us that we are to be strong and courageous. In fact, in Joshua one, verses six through nine, it says, Have I not commanded you Be strong, right. And I struggle with this a lot, so much so that Joshua won’t 169 or six through nine, was my theme verse for the year of 2015. And that was the year when God was calling me out. And my business was shifting to being faith focused and Spirit led, and I struggle with that I was afraid of what people would think and who wouldn’t work with me, and who would not be drawn. And God wanted me to know that I needed to be strong and courageous, and that he will not leave me and I had to make a decision. I had to decide that I was ready to change my life, and that I was ready, and willing and courageous enough to surrender to the life that he had for me, and do the work to become the woman who he called and created me to be. And the same is true for you. And so I want you to consider whether it is courage, or the lack thereof, that is keeping you from changing your life keeping you from making the decision to change your life. So maybe you don’t struggle with clarity, maybe you’re very clear about what God would have you do and who he would have you be. However, when you get ready to take some action, it is the fear that rises up and stops you and that is why you are still setting that same goal year in year out year in year out. And, of course you’ve heard me say this before, if you’re feeling convicted by what I’m saying it’s okay. I wholeheartedly know to be true that conviction inspires correction. And so if the Holy Spirit is convicting you with this, then I want to encourage you in that your season to decide is upon you. Your season to decide to be courageous is upon you. courageously setting boundaries, courageously calling out what you need to confront, so that you can conquer it. courageously standing in your truth and speaking up Even if your voice shakes, Okay, so the first reason why you may not have committed is because you lack clarity. The second reason maybe because you are struggling with or you lack the courage that it takes to overcome your fears. And the third reason that I want to share with you that is often the case for my clients is you struggle to commit. So you have the clarity, you build up the courage, you do the work for a period of time, and then for whatever reason, you stop, either things aren’t changing fast enough for you. Or it doesn’t feel as good as you thought it was, it would feel right. Oftentimes, we think that when we are obedient, when we do what God would have us to do, that we are going to feel guilty, and everything’s going to be beautiful, all sunny days, and butterflies and roses all over the place. And that’s not necessarily the case, right? The thing is, though, in our obedience, and through the commitment, we have the fruits of the Spirit, right, we have joy, because that is God’s promise to us. And so if commitment is where you are challenged, then you will not see lasting change, because you won’t commit to the decision that you’ve made, right? When you make a decision to change your life, there are a lifestyle changes that happen. These are not temporary, quick fixes, right. These are not band aids that are going on a hemorrhage, when you decide to change your life, that means you’re going to take the time necessary to get that surgery from the inside out that healing, right, and then start to crawl and then walk and then run with your new leg, for example. So I want you to consider where you have lacked commitment in your life. And these are very big areas, right?

These are snapshots of these three areas. But these are very big areas. And so I want you to consider looking at your life holistically. And one of the ways that I like to teach my clients to do this is to draw a circle, and then make it look like a pizza, right, so draw a line horizontally inside the circle, draw, draw a line vertically inside the circle, that makes four slices. And then you can draw two more lines to make either six or eight slices. And within each of those slices, you’re going to write one of the areas of your life. So you have spiritual, physical, you have social, you have personal, you have financial professional, you might have familial, you might have relational or romantic, right? All of the areas of your life, and I want you to evaluate yourself in each of those areas, right? How well do you feel you are doing in each of those areas, because this is going to be a reflection of some of the changes that you feel like you want to make. And so what I want you to do within each slice of pizza is make a pepperoni, where you feel you were raised yourself. So the closer you get to the center of the pizza is zero. And the closer you get to the crust would be a 10. So let’s say physically, you say you’re about 50%, where you’d like to be and 50% away from what you don’t want to be. So you will put your pepperoni in the middle of that slice of pizza and you want to put a pepperoni on each slice. Now if you’re a vegetarian, or you don’t like pepperonis, then you can put a mushroom or a pepper or an onion. But put something there to give you a visual depiction of where you are in each area of your life. Then I want you to connect the pepperonis or the onions or the dots. If you make dots, right, so I want you to connect each of those dots. And if you are challenged to visualize what I’m saying, then I want you to consider if you had all 10s then you would connect the dots around the crust of your pizza or around the edges of your circle and you would have a perfect circle. So maybe you have some trees. Maybe you have some sevens, maybe fives, some 10s. So your circle likely looks a little jagged. And you know, in a perfect world, like I said you would have a circle and if you did have a circle, it would be closer to the crust than the center right? Not that you have to be a perfect 10 but prayerfully you will be closer to the question. Then you are in the center of complete misery and dissatisfaction with your life. At any rate, this is a way for you to evaluate, where you have some challenges or where you know you need growth now, but without drawing this picture, I’m sure you have an idea. But this is a way for you to evaluate and look at where you need perhaps some clarity, right? If you’re looking at your lower numbers, then I want you to consider where you are lacking clarity? Right, where are you lacking the courage, and perhaps you have a number that has gotten low that you know, at one point was closer to the crust, but because you lack the commitment, it has fallen down, right. And I want you to take some time and think about how you could change your life, if you decide that your pizza is going to look like a pizza, right? How you can change your life. If you decide to get clarity in those areas where you’re lacking, if you decide to address the fears that rise up and do the work to become courageous, right? If you decide to make the commitment, once and for all, that these are changes you are going to make, maybe it’s one change, maybe it’s one area that will impact every other area of your life. So I don’t want you to feel like you need to commit to making all of these changes at once. But you do need to decide that you’re ready to change your life. If in fact, you want to change your life you do you have the power to do that. And I share these three areas with you.

I share these three C’s, if you will, with you because they are the cornerstones of the bounce back blueprint. And they are the cornerstones because they are areas that are so integral in you being able to rebuild your life, the way that God would have you to do it, and live purposefully to be and do and have all that he’s called you to. But it starts with a decision. And so I pray that you really receive this message that you take some time with your pizza, and do some evaluation and really get honest with yourself and journal through where you are challenged or struggling in those three areas with the three C’s. And in fact, those are the cornerstones of the bounce back blueprint. So if you have more of a challenge with clarity, you can go back and listen to Cornerstone number one, if it’s courage, you can listen to Cornerstone number two, if it’s the commitment piece, you can listen to Cornerstone number three, I’ll make sure all three of those episodes are linked in the show notes. And of course, I would love to help you work through whichever area you are challenged in. If you are ready to change your life, if you have already decided, even in the midst of listening to this episode, that you’re ready to make the change and you recognize that you have the power to do so. But you need some support, I would love to be your bounce back guide on this journey. You can grab that link in the show notes, a bit.li slash your bounce back guide so that we can hop on a call and talk about how powerful your 2021 will be if we are working together. God is not going to play you but if you refuse to decide to To change your life, I promise you are playing yourself. Be blessed.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Hey beacon, Hey, can you believe it’s already December, I am just like o m g, and what the being December I know many of us are in a season of reflection. And with this season of reflection, either we are excited reviewing our goals and setting new ones. Or for some of us, it is a time where we review our goals, our progress and lack thereof. And we get into a rut and we get stuck. Whether you are on either side of that coin, I am excited to share that. The next few episodes will be a series around helping you get unstuck, gaining clarity around why you have been or are stuck and also really getting you into a great space with God and yourself as you wrap up this year and prepare for what is to come. So grab your journal. Hey begin welcome home to your bounceback blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best as you thrive on your journey from setback to success. I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death, healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it, and shout out to God. Ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. Hey, begin before we start building the blueprint this week, I want to bless you with one of our reviews. This review is from Orion Chanel. She says Tiffany is so encouraging. I love Tiffany, she is real and provides practical tips. I especially loved the episode where she talks about digging deep into why it’s always deeper. And that was such a great exercise. For me. It’s especially encouraging how she looks to God and trusts him. Thank you so much Ryan for that review. And begin I hope it was a blessing to you as it was a blessing to me. Even if you know you don’t share the sentiments about loving me which How could you not, I hope that what you will take away is that if you’re new to the podcast, or you haven’t listened to all of the episodes, that will you what you will get is some tools and tips for digging into your why living more purposefully, and how empowering and encouraging it is to live a life where you are trusting and believing in depending on God. And that, of course, is going to be part of what we’re discussing today, as we dig into part two of our series about why you think you’re stuck. And if you didn’t already, I encourage you to go back and listen to Episode 53, which was released this past Wednesday. And it was why you think you’re stuck with part one. This is why you think you’re stuck part two. And just like we did in last, in the last episode, we are going to start with a reflection question today. And today’s reflection question is, are you stuck? Or are you stingy? No, you did not miss hear me? Are you stuck? Or are you stingy? And I’ve already said it twice. But if you haven’t already, go and grab your journal because it’s about to get real. Now. Just as I shared when we were reflecting on are you stuck or are you settling? There are levels to this right? And so ultimately the levels are being stingy with yourself being stingy with others. And yes, you guessed it being stingy with God.

So we’re going to start with being stingy with yourself. And I want to be expressly clear if it is already by the question that there is a huge difference between being stuck and being stingy. So when you’re stingy with yourself, you are doing a lot more spending than you are investing right. And this could be spending time, this could be spending money. This could be spending energy, right where you Could be investing. And so if you’re being stingy, that might look like you are not willing to invest, the time it takes to do the work, you know, is necessary to get past this feeling, or this place of being stuck, right? You won’t invest the money in education or support or a book or training, right, you won’t invest in your rest, so that you can wake up in the morning with the intention and the energy and the clarity that is necessary for you to be and do and have all that God has called you to. And so I’m going to ask you again, are you really stuck? Or are you just simply being stingy with yourself, and I want you to consider, Second Peter one, verses five through eight. And it says this, for this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, goodness, and to goodness, knowledge, and to knowledge, self control, and to self control perseverance and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness mutual affection, and to mutual affection, love, for if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being any effective and unproductive, and your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. So I’m going to go back just a minute and pick a few things apart at the end and says, If you possess these qualities in increasing measure, right, and in order to increase your measure, you have to add to it or you have to multiply it right, which is very simply saying, you need to be investing in increasing these qualities, right. And then it goes on to say they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive, which if you are feeling stuck, is reminiscent of being ineffective or unproductive. And then I also want to draw your attention to this, because a lot of times we say, Well, you know, I am investing in my faith, I’m investing in being a good person, right? And this scripture does start with that, right? make every effort to add to your faith, goodness, right? So it’s saying, yes, you need to have faith, but these other things you need to add to it, goodness, and guess what comes next. And after that is self control. And after that perseverance, and so I want to be clear, and pointing out that you do have to invest in order to add to right, like I said, investing is like adding or multiplying. So you’ve got to invest in getting the knowledge and in getting the self control and in having discipline, right? So have you been investing? Have you been adding to your faith and your goodness, so that you are more godly, right? Have you been adding to so that you are increasing the measure, and not being any effective or unproductive. And all of this leads to your knowledge of our Lord and Jesus Christ. So basically, I want you to really consider I want you to take some time to reflect on where you have been, or not investing in becoming a better person, holistically a better Christian, holistically. Right, not stopping, or not measuring that success simply by how much faith you have. Because we know that the scripture says Faith without works is dead. And so doing the work to match your faith is going to require an investment of your time and investment of your talent and an investment of your treasure. So that’s the first level in this piece of stinginess, being stingy with yourself.

Have you been stingy with yourself? level two? Have you or are you being stingy with others? And what do I mean by that? I mean, you refuse to share your story, your experiences, your knowledge or wisdom with others, even though you know that it will impact them. It will bless them, it will change lives and it will build the kingdom. Have you been stingy with others? And listen again, like I said in the last episode, conviction inspires correction. And so if you are convicted by any of these reflection questions, or by your responses to the reflection questions, be encouraged because God is actually Sending grades for you to correct these things so that you can grow forward in him. Now, let me give you a scripture about being stingy with others. Matter of fact, let me give you two or three. Let’s start with Luke six, verse 38. And it says, Give and it will be given to you with good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap, for what measure you use it, it will be measured back to you. And so this is a scripture that I believe is at the root of the Dodge blessed to be a blessing, right. So God has given you this, you know, this story, this testimony, these experiences the wisdom and knowledge, right? That is to be shared with others to be a blessing, whether it’s tangible or intangible, you have something to offer. And so if out of fear, or out of feeling as if it’s inefficient or not good enough, whatever the reason is that you are hoarding your gifts, talents, treasure, or you are being stingy with others. And it could even be that you need to invest some time in others, as you may not have been doing with yourself, right? If you aren’t willing to do that, then you are going to begin to feel stuck, because it is what we were called and created to do, right. And so if you are clinging to being stingy with others, because you refuse to share, and do the work and be a blessing and impact others live, you might find yourself feeling stuck, because you are not fulfilling God’s call for your life at the lowest level, right. And I know from personal experience, that if you are not executing in excellence at the lowest level, right, if he cannot trust you to be obedient over the small things that he is not going to elevate you, or entrust you with the bigger things. And when I say bigger, I have air quotes, right, because we all have our own definitions of that. But I am sure if you are feeling stuck in this season, that there is a thing, or a place or a destination or part of the journey that you are aspiring to get to and you feel like it’s blocked or you can’t get there, or you’ve been feeling that way. Or maybe you set some goals at the top of this year or week or month that you feel like you’re stuck and blocked from reaching, achieving, it could very well be because you are being stingy with others. Another one that is really powerful for this purpose is first john 318. And this is the New Living Translation. And it says Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other. Let us show the truth by our actions. And I think this is really important because again, we’re talking about why you think you’re stuck or why you feel stuck. And what gets us unstuck is action. And so if you know that you’ve been being stingy with others, what can you do? How can you get active in serving others and sharing with others and blessing others? And I want to be expressly clear. Again, this does not mean that you have to be buying gifts or giving something tangible. I want you to think bigger than that. And so if you’re challenged by this question, another one to consider is what gifts and talents have you uniquely blessed me with so that I can be a blessing to others. And that leads specifically to the third scripture that I wanted to share. And it’s proverbs 2717.

It says As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. So how can you use your gifts, your talents, your skills, your education, training, wisdom, to sharpen someone else. And this could be a friend or family member, it could be a co-worker, it could very well be a stranger. This could even be you offering to pray for someone. Or it could be that God has been giving you something to say to someone or to people that for whatever reason you haven’t you’ve been hesitant and you’ve been hoarding that messing, what you don’t want to do is be a burden on someone else’s blessing. So I am both challenging and encouraging you to stop being stingy with others. Last, but certainly not least, you’re stingy with God. And that’s why you’re feeling stuck. Yes, I said it. So just as you need to invest in yourself, just as you need to invest and others, you must invest the time to get to know God, His will for your life, and then consistently invest to strengthen the intimacy and the comfort of your relationship, right? It’s like when you are getting to know someone else, for the first time you invest in getting to know them, right? You spend time with them, you’re asking questions, they are asking you questions. And that’s how you build the relationship. There is no difference in building and strengthening and maintaining your relationship with God. And so you can’t expect that not investing any time besides asking him for things, to learn to hear his voice more clearly, to understand the purpose that he has planted deep down inside of you, if you aren’t willing to seek him out, right. And so, if you’re being stingy with God, what will happen is you’ll continue to pray prayers of procrastination, to justify the lie that God won’t or hasn’t done x, y, z, right. And this is really important to, again, your end of year reflection or in the week or end of month. Because if you aren’t being honest with yourself about where you’re being stingy, then you will use those lies, again, to justify the lie that God hasn’t done something or that he won’t do something and if you do that, it will negatively impact the way that you plan prepare for and set goals for next year, because they will be on a less than solid foundation. So, what are you doing daily to strengthen your relationship with God right? How is it that you are investing in what God has for you, which first and foremost is his presence p r e n, s e n c e over the presence p r e s e n t s that he has to offer you.And so I want to read to you scripture that you may be familiar with, one that you see a lot now on T shirts on wall decals, license plates. But I also want to take it a little further and read the verses that follow. And I want to encourage you to consider when you have one scripture to challenge yourself to do before and after. And by that I mean read the Scripture or scriptures before or the scripture or scriptures after for context. Because a lot of times we take scripture out of context, or we don’t get the fullness of what God intends us to from his word, because we aren’t doing that. So I’m going to start with Jeremiah 2911. And I’m going to read through Jeremiah 2914. And so it says, For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future, then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you, you will seek Me and find me when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity, I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you, declares the Lord and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile. And so I want you to hear that God is saying, This is the plan that I have for you, right? And when you know that you are going to call on me You are going to pray to me You are going to seek Me and you will find me. That means he’s waiting for you. Right? He wants to commune with you. He wants to have that relationship with you and he knows that in doing so you will cease to feel as if you’re stuck. It says I will be found by you and we’ll bring you back from captivity. And when you are really feeling stuck. When there is no movement. It is almost like being imprisoned right? It is captivity, it could be that you are reflecting on this year and just feeling like you are in this box. And no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, you can’t come out of it and you’re frustrated and you’re tired. And you want to give up. And I want to challenge you. I want you to consider whether you have been calling on him and praying to Him and seeking Him with all your heart. Have you been investing in yourself? So that you can do that in that way? Have you been investing in others and serving others, because clarity, and getting unstuck, like I said, comes through action and doing right. So spend some time really reflecting on your stinginess, right. And if you’re challenged to really understand how this is going to help you get unstuck, I want you to take some time and write down before you start to set goals. Before you create your vision board, I really want you to take some time and think about the plans that you believe God has for you. What is the hope for your future. And then after you’ve done that, I want you to go back and think about how you’ve invested in that plan in that hope, with your time, with your talent, with your treasure, how you have served others and supported others and invested in others. As you are building and doing the work to manifest that plan.

And how you have been again, seeking and praying and calling on God with all of your heart as an investment in what you know is necessary for what he has called you to be and to do and to have. All of these things are really important: answering these questions, praying over them, meditating on these scriptures, super important to your process of preparing for the new year. And also getting honest with yourself, right, like I said, being able to call out what you need to confront and conquer. So while you may have called out that you’re stuck, it could very well be that you need to get honest with yourself and call out that you’ve actually been being stingy. And because of that you’ve been ineffective and unproductive. And so I am praying that like I said your conviction inspires you into correction that this series has been a blessing to you. And as if it has, I would love to hear from you. You know you can leave a review you can screenshot and tag me or DM me on social at Tiffany Huff. And if you want to go even deeper as we move through this series, remember that I have created a gift for you in the Reclaim Your Life Workbook, which you can grab by clicking the link in the show notes, completely free 99 but the investment of your time and your talent, right is going to cause a shift in your life that you would not believe and so if you’re looking for a place to start, then spend the time working through the questions in this episode, the last episode and also doing the work and the Reclaim Your Life Workbook. If you haven’t already, I am asking you to leave a review because when you do you create an opportunity for another vegan just like you to find this podcast to get the tips and the resources and find the community and be guided on her bounce back journey. And of course, we will be continuing this series with the lies that are keeping you stuck next week. So make sure you are subscribed and tuned in. It’s going to be good and I will leave you with this. God is not going to play you uh but if you are being stingy and hoarding and you are certainly laying yourself And ain’t nobody got time for that. Be blessed!

So grab your journal, hey begin welcome home to your bounceback blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best as you thrive on your journey from setback to success. All right, now begin. Let’s build this week’s blueprint. I know I’ve said it once. No, I’ve said it twice now. But I’m gonna say it one more time, grab your journal. Today we’re kicking off this series about getting unstuck, being unstuck. And today we’re starting with why you think you’re stuck in this is going to be part one. Since this series is in the spirit of reflection, as we wrap up, 2020 and prepare for 2021. I’m going to be asking you several questions, questions that you can consider, obviously, while we’re having this conversation, but also, I’m really going to encourage and challenge you to take some time create some space in your day to really sit with these questions, pray through them. And let me know about the impact that it has on your reflection in goal setting. So I’m really excited about this because questions are my jam. I know, I’m a nerd. But I love questions. Because when we’re able to ask the right questions, then we are able to get that clarity and with clarity, we can move forward intentionally the way God would have us to. So here is the first question. Are you stuck? Or are you settling?

I’m going to give it to you again, just in case you’re writing it down. Are you stuck? Or are you settling? Here’s what I know to be true. For sure. dust settles, Daughters of the Most High do not. And so if you answer that question, honestly what the Yes, it’s okay. Being able to be honest with yourself is the first step to being able to move forward intentionally right, you’ve got to be willing to call out and confront what needs to be conquered. So let’s talk about settling and the levels of settling and how each level of settling can lead you to thinking or believing or feeling as if you are stuck. So the first level or the first place where I find my clients often excuse me, settling is in their mind, right so, so way too often we are struggling with a mindset of mediocrity. And we are like I said Daughters of the most Hi we are divine creations. And so we are reflections of him right, created in his image and likeness. God has never manifested anything in mediocrity. That means that he did not create you in mediocrity or out of mediocrity. He executes everything with excellence, right? And so if you are doing this reflection, and you are intending to do things with excellence and decency in order as a reflection of the way God manifests and creates then.

You’ve got to get rid of that mediocre mindset, right? You’ve got to stop settling in your mind. And in the word, of course, there are some scriptures that speak directly to this one that you may be familiar with is Romans 12. Two. And it says, do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Right? That’s the tips notes version. That’s not the full scripture, you can read it. But ultimately, what the scripture is saying is that the world thinks one way, right? The world will tell you that, that’s enough, or you don’t have to do all of that. But when you are a reflection of God, and you want to live a life that is going to honor and glorify Him, and when you are rebuilding, right, you don’t want to set us a foundation that is anything less than solid, right? Think about it. If you’re building a house, you’re not going to haphazardly lay that foundation, you’re not going to say, you know, it’s good enough, because everything else is going to be dependent on the foundation that you lay, you’re going to execute that foundation with excellence. And the same is true for your bounce back journey. Like when you’re rebuilding your life. When you’re reclaiming your space and owning who God says you are. You want to have a solid foundation as you rebuild, right? So your mindset is very, very important. So I want you to ask yourself the question, has my mind been transformed? Right? Am I thinking thoughts that are closer to what the world says? Or closer to what God is saying about me and who I am? And here is another scripture, right? It’s Isaiah 55, verses eight and nine. And it says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord, as the heavens are higher than the Earth. So are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts, then your thoughts? And basically, again, it’s reinforcing that the way the world thinks the way the world works, is even in what is getting the likes, and the shares and the comments, often less than God’s level of excellence, right? And so I want you to think about the thoughts you’ve been focusing on, and how they have been impacting the way you do things, right. And who you’re interacting with. And, you know, in the spirit, again, a reflection and preparation, the goals you’ve been setting, and this is really important, right? So if you’re settling in your mind, then what you prepare to manifest is one going to be mediocre, because your thoughts are mediocre. But two, you may even be setting mediocre goals or goals that are different than what God would have you to be setting because you need to get your mind right, which is the tips notes version of Romans 12 to get your mind right. So that’s the first place that’s the first level of settling, right. So when you’re, again, when you’re settling in your mind, you’re going to start to feel stuck, because your thoughts are going to be very limited, your expectations are going to be very limited. And the goals you set will be limited, thus, leading to the false perception of being stuck. So before you set any goal, let’s do a reflection check at level one and consider if you have found yourself allowing your thoughts to be conformed to this world, right? Have you been thinking lower than God? What have you think? Alright, then, level two is when again, your thoughts are lower than God, what have you be thinking and you are setting goals that aren’t aligned? And or not achieving goals that you set that are misaligned, then you start to question whether you are who God says you are, whether you can do the things that God says you can do, right. And when that happens, the settling is in action, right. So you start to play small, you start ignoring the call that God has placed on your life, you start to become consumed with whether they and I’m doing air quotes when I say day, whether they are going to accept who God says you are or who God says you will become or what God says you will do because you fall in short, and then if you’re not careful, you will find yourself in this downward spiral where you start to seek out people’s validation, their affirmation, which can often lead to a place of doing what everyone else is doing.
