Hey beacon, welcome home to your bounce back blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best. As you thrive on your journey from setback to success. I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death, healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it, and shout out to God. Ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. Hey, begin before we start building the blueprint. This week, I wanted to let you know that this episode of the podcast is being brought to you by the comeback challenge. The comeback challenge is happening Tuesday, January 12, through Thursday, January 14, and it is three days to kicking your setbacks in the bud and bouncing back. Listen, this challenge is especially for you if this sounds familiar, you wake up in the morning and tell yourself again, today will be the day you begin to make changes. But you’re paralyzed by fear and you feel alone on the journey. Or you are frustrated with trying to figure everything out on your own. But you don’t trust anyone enough to share your struggles or seek support. Listen, you do not have to do this alone, we don’t grow alone, we don’t bounce back alone, we don’t get to where God would have us to be on our own. And this is an opportunity for you to thrive in a community of Covenant connections, you’re going to get some live coaching and some self paced training and activities. And this is going to kickstart your bounce back journey. So if you are ready to make your comeback in 2021, and you want to be a part of the comeback challenge, and you can sign up with the link in the show notes it is@bit.li slash comeback challenge. Now, let’s get into building the blueprint. And today I wanted to talk to you a little bit about my one word and one goal and why I switched to the power of one. And by that I mean the power of having one goal and one word to be my theme for the year. And to guide everything that I do. And I want to start off by sharing why it’s been several years since I set a new year’s resolution. And I remember facing the idea of ceasing to set resolutions with a very strong resistance. Like literally I was feeling a bit tense and uptight about not professing the challenges that I was going to conquer that year. And you know, the idea that I would never be professing those challenges at the start of a new year. And the truth is, as my life began to shift and take on more of a Spirit led vision center focus, my need to aim towards specific goals at the start of each year shifted as well. And then finally, they became completely unnecessary. And I’ve shared in previous episodes about how I was addicted to achievement, and I will be sure to link to one of those episodes in the show notes. But one of the main reasons why I stopped making resolutions is because resolutions were a reflection of my personal need for control. Yes, I am a recovering control freak. When I was setting by resolutions, I will come up with my plan of execution and then pray for God to bless my plans. And while this appeared to work well for many years I was achieving things. It slowly became apparent that my plans and God plans are not properly aligned. Can you relate to that? You know, that whole process of getting to the top of the wrong ladder and feeling unaccomplished? Even though everyone around you is applauding. Meanwhile, God is saying, you are going to need to climb down and start at the bottom of the right ladder for you to get the fullness of my promises. So the more I grew both spiritually and personally, the better. I was able to understand how the shifts that were happening in my life, were for the best and that God was allowing me to take the lead as necessary, but it started with me being able to surrender in during times of reflection and prayer, I recognized while I had set well meaning resolutions, and I was working diligently to accomplish and achieve them, I was consistently missing my mark. And I learned that I had to be willing to go to God and constantly pray for guidance. I had to like I said, surrender and allow my desires and plans to become his, I had to begin living a more Spirit led life. My process for selecting my annual theme is this exact is the exact opposite of the one I used to use to set and plan my strategies for achieving and setting new year’s resolutions. And I know now, I need to pray and meditate and listen for the voice of God to be led in the direction that he sees fit. And I also have to do intentional reflection, not only at certain times of the year, but consistently throughout the year, and be 100% honest with myself. And the same is true for you, especially if you are a person who has the need for control, and has a need to know the solution to a question or problem before you even attempt or take action, then I’m going to challenge you to if you haven’t already stopped making new year’s resolutions and embrace this process of allowing your truth, your self awareness and the presence of God to really lead you on this journey. The second reason why I stopped making resolutions is because for me resolutions were finite. More than once in the past, I have made the resolution to lose 50 pounds, and more than once I have in fact lost 50 pounds. Just to be clear, this resolution had to be made more than once because I gained the weight back. The issue with this resolution and resolutions of this type was there was no plan or indication for what I should or would do once the rep resolution was fulfilled. There was no continuum for maintaining the weight loss I had worked so hard to achieve throughout the year because I was so focused on the achievement itself. So for me, resolutions led me to chase a destination, as opposed to creating a lifestyle or a shift in my life that would be lasting. And what I now know is that with annual themes, I recognize there’s a natural flow. And because there is a natural and Spirit led and aligned flow, there is a continuum. The momentum of last year’s theme was built from the momentum of the theme of the year before that. And I’ll get into that a little bit more when I share my word. And I recognize that my one goal and my one word themes are guiding principles for building my legacy, and are applicable in all areas of life as opposed to resolutions being limited to say, your physical health or getting promoted on your job or something like that. And then finally, for me, and maybe this is true for you too. resolutions lacked emotion. Since resolutions are so heavily focused on arriving or doing there’s often little consideration given to how you want to feel along the way or the emotions associated with the arrival at whatever that destination is deciding to spend the day after deciding to spend day after day moving closer and closer to a destination. While miserable or feeling negatively for the sake of achieving it became redundant and effective. And felt like a self imposed prison. We have an interview coming up on the podcast that is so great with Evelyn Vasya. And one of the things that she says is you cannot hate yourself then. And so you cannot hate yourself to a goal. And when I say yourself, I mean you cannot hate the process yourself is going through right it can be hard, it can be challenging, but if you hate it is it a journey that you even want to be a part of your life again, I’m not saying that you have to love everything that you grow through, but to hate it is very extreme. And so a clear sign that your theme or your one word and goal is right for you as being able to apply it to your life holistically. Regardless of what area of your life you are reflecting upon or examining or working to improve. Your theme should guide those activities. If you cannot align your one word and goal with your intention spiritually, mentally, emotionally, professionally, financially, socially, then you may want to spend a bit more time and money prayer and meditation and in reflection, and you really, really want to be patient with yourself through this process. So here are some steps you can take, if you’re not sure where God is leading you. Like I said, you can pray with only the expectation to hear from God, not to confirm necessarily your own intention, or your own resolution or your own plan, pray openly to hear from God to get clarity. You can also be intentional about spending quiet time alone with God and reflecting about lessons and blessings not only over the last year, but it can be over the last week over the last month, right? So setting aside the time to spend with God and yourself to really reflect on what is or isn’t working, and how that informs what needs to change, and then who you need to become in order for you to make those changes. And then of course, you can write through your thoughts and feelings, and responses to these answer prayers, what you hear from God, and what your self tells you in response to these questions. So that’s kind of why I now have the one I have one word and one goal for each year. And in fact, this year, I have one color that God has given me. So I will talk to you a little bit about my one. So I shared on an episode in 2020. In fact, it was my birthday episode, unshakable joy, I will link that in the show notes as well, that my work for 2020 was unshakable. And in fact, for me, oftentimes, my word for the calendar year to come, comes between my birthday, which is in June, and October. So God begins to prepare me for what is to come often, prior to I enter my own personal year end season, a reflection, if you will. And so in 2020, my word was unshakable. And the reason why God told me that that would be my word. And while I why I knew it will be something in that area is because I was very distracted, I was looking around a lot, I knew that God was calling me to do the work I was doing. But I was looking around a lot at for the how I was looking around a lot for if I’m honest, the validation of me doing it right. And God was saying to me, you’re too distracted. You’re trying to do so many things at once that you’re not executing anything with excellence. And I need you to put your head down. And he brought me to the book of Nehemiah and I was studying it. And specifically, verse three, really resonated with me. And so it became my one scripture to go with my one word unshakable for 2020. And the Scripture, which I’m not giving you verbatim, basically, is Nehemiah saying to the people who were trying to interrupt him from building the wall at the time, that you know, I don’t have time to come down and deal with you. I’m not addressing that right now. I am doing a great work, I cannot come down, I am doing a great work. And so it was for me, also God affirming that he had to find a great work to me. And he needed me to be focused more than ever on the fulfillment of my purpose and call because there were others blessings and breakthroughs assigned to my ability to be unshakable. Just like in the case of Nehemiah, and those who he was leading as he was building that wall. And so as the year progressed, and I continue to reflect, as I said, and I moved through the year, and I had a lot of milestones, it was a milestone year for me, I turned 40. So a lot of things were changing relationships were changing. And then of course, we entered into a national pandemic. And so I had the foresight and was giving me the foresight that there were going to be some major distraction, there were going to be a lot of shifts and changes happening. But even still, he rewrote he wanted me to remain unshakable and focused on what he had me to do. And so as the year progressed, he spoke to me one day that I had everything that I have been praying for, and the reason it didn’t look or feel the way thought that it would or should, is because I wasn’t stewarding it well. And that was a huge gut punch. But when I sat back, and I reflected on that, I knew it was true. So much of what I have. And what I do is what I pray for, to be able to have the clarity and the courage and be committed to doing what God has told me to do. So if you don’t know, I will be celebrating four years of marriage in March of this year, I have two sons, I am a homeowner, I run a nonprofit that I started. And I have been able to build it from next to nothing to now getting a salary. And I also have this business and this podcast where I’m able to share and encourage and coach women just like you. So you know, I have great community and so many opportunities. I’ve written books, and I help other women write books. So a lot of what I’ve prayed for has come to pass. Right? That’s not to say that life is perfect. But what God made expressly clear to me was that if I was being a better steward, the picture would be much more perfectly imperfect for me the way that he intends. And so you know, in my prayer and my meditation and reflection time, we decided that my one word would be cultivate. And that is, because if I’m going to be a better steward, then I’m going to need to cultivate stronger relationships with what is most important. And so my one word for 2021, is cultivate. And my one goal is to cultivate stronger relationships. And to be clear, like I said, both this word and this goal, are able or are applicable, I should say to my entire life, right? So I need to cultivate a stronger relationship with God in my spiritual life, I need to cultivate a stronger relationship with myself. And that is, you know, with my health and taking better care of myself holistically, I need to cultivate a stronger relationship in my marriage with my husband, my children are on their way, very close to graduating high school, once a junior, well, one will be a senior in the fall one will be a junior in the fall. And so cultivating stronger relationships with them. I need to cultivate stronger relationships with donors and with corporations who support the nonprofit. And of course, I need to cultivate stronger relationships with you here on this podcast and with the women that I’m coaching and even with the women that I have the potential to impact whether they are working with me or not. And so I am really excited about this year, I’m really excited about what will happen, what will happen and what will be made manifest with me focusing. And here’s the other thing that I want to say about having a one word goal, or excuse me having one goal. And the one word focus is that it sets a standard for you that if What if you are approached with an opportunity, or someone invites you to something or to do something and it doesn’t align with that goal, or your work, then you know, you can say no with intention, and without malice and know that in doing so you are saying yes to being aligned with God and what he has called you to do. Now, I want to be sure that you understand that I am that I am clearly communicating that within that big goal, to cultivate stronger relationships. There are specific projects that I’m working on. And there are specific tasks that are going to be necessary to complete to bring that to fruition, right to measure my success, or lack thereof, or my progress at the end of the year. Right. And so I think it’s very important to recognize the difference between a goal and a project and then the tasks that it will take to complete each project so that you meet your goal and I can give you an example. So for me, cultivating a stronger relationship with my money, right with my finances is really important this year. And so one of my projects this quarter is to develop a realistic budget for my family right for we are going to work together to develop this budget. And so within that some of the tasks that are going to be completed some of the projects within that are this month. We are having a note spend a month right. So what that means is we are spending money specifically on necessities right specifically on the things that we will have to do every month, regardless of what month it is. And the reason why is because for us to really understand and get a good grasp on what our monthly expenses are, we need to see them without all of the extras that we add in. And so it’s been very challenging, especially with all of the sales, you know, that come at the top of the year and after Christmas and all of the opportunities. But I know that it is going to strengthen our family, the strengthening my relationship with my husband is strengthening the relationship that we have with with food, right, because we’re not eating out, we’re not ordering out. So I’m being very intentional about preparing my husband’s lunch, which, you know, overflows into, like I said, cultivating that stronger relationship with him. So you can see how this one goal is having impact holistically on not only my life, but the lives of the people in my family, and also those that I am called to serve. So I want to challenge you. First, I want to encourage you, because you know, it’s already January 6, when you’ll hear this episode, right? And the world will have you thinking that you have to have your plans for the year already figured out. And if you don’t, you’re behind and you should have done it in the last quarter. And you should already be hustling yourself to death. But I want to encourage you that you are right on time you are not behind. And I want to challenge you. It To be honest with yourself, and ask yourself if you have already set goals or set resolutions, where are they Spirit led? And where are they finite? Where did they lack emotion, were they focused on you having control. And then I want you to also challenge yourself to consider how your life would change if you gave yourself permission to set one goal. And if you challenge yourself to set a goal so powerful, that it will not only transform your life, but the lives of those around you and those that you are called to impact. And if you are up for the challenge, then I want to know what your one goal is, I want to hear from you about what your one goal is and what your word is. And if this episode has been helpful for you, of course, you know, you can jump in my DMS on Instagram or Facebook, I am at the Tiffany half, you can take a screenshot of this episode and share it out. If it Bless you, it will likely bless someone else. And of course, if you are looking to get the support and the clarity around your one, if you’re ready to become unshakable and remove the distractions and the clutter, and really cultivate the life that God has called you to, and you want to set a solid foundation for that by getting to your one goal in your one word, I would love to be your coach and guide through that process. And I am now enrolling new coaching clients. If you’re interested and want to have a chat about how we can work together, and how I can help you make 2021 one of your best years yet, then I encourage you to grab the link in my show notes and schedule a breakthrough session it is free of charge. And you can do that@bit.li slash your bounce back guide. But if you aren’t ready for that, then I implore you to join us for the comeback challenge. It will be just what you need to kickstart this reflection process, to kickstart your journey to build your confidence and clarity and to build some great relationships that you will have with women who are like minded to both encourage and challenge you through this year. So don’t be out in the streets saying you don’t have anyone to help you because I have given you two options to get the support you need. And it is available right now. I look forward to seeing you for the challenge. And I cannot wait to learn about your one goal and your one word. I pray that you are blessed by this episode. And of course I will leave you with this. God is not going to play you but if you’re out here in the streets, setting, unrealistic, Miss aligned goals and you’re not seeking Him about what he would have you do be and have a promise you are laying your self be blessed.

And then I wrote an award winning book all about it, and shout out to God, ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint.

Hey, beacon. Hey, happy new year. I am so excited about this new year and what is to come, I am even more excited about what I am sharing with you today. And I am just really, really praying that the end of 2020 was a time of peace and prayer and reflection and recommitment for you and your loved ones. And before we start building the blueprint this week, I want to encourage you, I know that for some of you, when the clock struck 12 in the year change to 2021, it did not change the fact that you felt like 2010 2020 beat you down like you’ve never been beaten before. It didn’t change that for you. When you get up and look in the mirror, you don’t recognize the woman that you see, it doesn’t change the fact that you are still exhausted with the truth that you tried doing all of the things. And it felt like nothing worked, or nothing will work even in this new year. And if that is you, then I want to both challenge and encourage you to grab the link in the show notes and schedule a breakthrough session. Because I would love to be your coach this year, be your guide this year, and really work with you to be and do and have all that God has called you to through coaching. So grab the link in the show notes bit.li slash your bounce back guide. And let’s work together to ensure that 2021 is the year that you not only build but begin to implement your bounce back blueprint. Now today’s topic is sleep your way to the top. Yes, I said it, sleep your way to the top. One more game for those in the balcony, sleep your way to the top. And I know that if you listen to other podcasts, or if you’re on social media, all you’re seeing is stuff about the hustle and how you need to get up and go. And this new year, it’s time to do all of the things. But I just want to really impress upon you the importance of resting. Regardless of what goals you set, regardless of what you’re called to do. Regardless of what season of life you are in. There is nothing that you are going to be able to execute with excellence if you are not getting sufficient rest. And let me tell you how much of a challenge I know this to be for you. And for me, right? I committed at the start of 2020. I told my husband, I am going to take the full final week of 2020 off. And he was like, okay, and I was like No, I’m really going to do this. So I told myself that from December 24th. Christmas Eve through the end of the year, I was not going to do work. Now. I did know that there were a few things that were pre scheduled that there wasn’t really anything I was going to be able to do about about them. But for the most part, I was taking this time to rest to rejuvenate to spend some time with family. And when I say I was resting, I was not only not doing work, I was not doing house work. I was not I was in a 100% chill mode. However, it took some time right because Christmas Eve Christmas. I was still kind of working you know baking cookies and cooking. And not that that’s work but I was doing I was there was a lot of doing right I went to sleep pretty much exhausted on Christmas Eve I went to sleep pretty much exhausted on Christmas. But I did start to rest the day after Christmas. And then when Monday came I went into full rest mode. Talking about I was in the bed all day, I have therapy on Monday afternoons, I took my therapy session from the bed. And my therapist really was proud of me because she knows how challenging it is. And there will there were several times over the course of the last week where I had to really work at resting, I had to really work at not picking up my laptop, I had to work at not trying to schedule things or reaching out to someone so or constantly checking my emails, all of that I had to really work at resting. And I think that it was not even I think it was a telltale sign for me that I’m not being as intentional as I need to be with rest. And I know that I am not alone with this. And so I am sharing this as the first episode of 2020. Because it needs to be a priority. And it’s not something that needs to be seasonal, right? It’s not something that happens only at the end of the year, or only on Saturdays, this is something prioritizing rest. And sleeping your way to the top is something that needs to become the rule and not the exception. And so I want to share three tips that you can use for, you know, creating the atmosphere or setting the tone for you to be able to sleep your way to the top. And I’m going to start out by sharing three scriptures that I think are just really aligned with our need to rest more. And that is not something that is just coming out of the sky. It is something that is written in the word that God is, you know, as I say, challenging and encouraging us to do. And so the first scripture is Psalm three, five, and it says, I lay down and slept, I awoke for the Lord sustains me. And the reason why I wanted to share this scripture is because I know that we feel like if we are sleeping, if we are resting, there are so much that’s not getting done. And perhaps if we aren’t working, then we aren’t making the money. And then we are in this mindset of lack, right? But the Word says that because we lay down and sleep, we awake, you know, we can get that rest because God is going to sustain us. The second scripture is Exodus 3314. And it says, and he said, My presence shall go with you. And I will give you rest. That means there’s nowhere that we are going that God is not there, right? He goes before us, in fact, and so we are allowed to rest, knowing that he has everything under control, and we are covered by him. And then the third scripture I will share is song for an eight it says in peace, I will both lie down and sleep for you alone, oh Lord, make me to dwell in safety. And peace says I want you to write that down. And peace asleep my way to the top and peace. I will lie down and sleep that means not just lay down and scroll on your phone, not just stay in the bed and be watching Instagram Live No. in peace, I will lie down and sleep. For you alone. Oh Lord, make me to dwell in safety. That’s good. Psalm four and eight. All right. So here are my three tips for sleeping your way to the top in 2021 and beyond. The first is to prioritize. So we know that when we are prioritizing something or someone in our lives, it requires us to set boundaries, right. And so I want you to consider the boundaries you are going to need to set in order for you to make sleeping your way to the top and or resting priority in this season. Right? Some of those boundaries might be having a time when you shut down, right. So a time when you stop taking calls a time when you stop responding to text messages a time when you stop scrolling. Right? And you begin to decompress. Right? Maybe that is when you start your prayer. You might do some meditating, maybe some journaling at night. But you are in your space, right you are prepared for rest. And for some of us, for some of us, that is going to be a new habit that we’re setting right so perhaps, you know you need to go to bed earlier, but you don’t just fall asleep. Well that might Look like like that Scripture says, lying down, and then going to sleep. So maybe you need to set a boundary that you will be in bed by 10. Even if that means you aren’t sleep until 11, you are resting and preparing for that. Another boundary that you might need to set is to move where you are charging your cell phone, right. I always tell people not to charge your cell phone next to your bed, I have a powder room in my bedroom. So I can plug my cell phone up in the bathroom, still in my bedroom, but far enough away that I have to get up and go into the bathroom if my alarm is going off, because a lot of people use the excuse that their cell phone is their alarm clock.

The good news is they are still making alarm clocks in 2021. So if you are in need of one, then invest in an alarm clock or move your cell phone, and it’s charging station from your bedside table or your nightstand and put it somewhere that’s going to require you to get up out of the bed in the morning. And am. In addition to that, shut off your notifications, put your cell phone on Do Not Disturb or put it on silent so that even if it is in a different area of the room, you aren’t constantly hearing the buzzing and the alerts and the notifications, right. Another boundary might be that you need to start waking up earlier right? Perhaps you feel like you can’t go to bed earlier, you can’t sleep longer because you have so much to do. Well what if you decided to start commanding your morning, getting up earlier so that you have some time to do what’s necessary. before everyone else in your house awakes before it’s time to get out of the door or on the laptop for work, you can prioritize what’s most important. And then not only are you getting more done earlier in the day, but you’re waking up earlier, which is making it more likely that you will be able to get the sufficient rest you need at the end of the night because you’re tired. The second tip is to prepare for sleeping your way to the top. Yes, I said preparing for sleep. Because let’s be honest, we haven’t necessarily created the optimal environment for us to get the sufficient rest, right, you may have a TV in your room, you may need new pillows on your bed, maybe you need a new bed. And I can tell you that the Sunday after Christmas, we got our new bed delivered. And I know that contributed significantly to the amount of rest and sleep that I got not only Monday, but during the entire course of this past week. And us getting a new bed was way overdue. And that is because I was not necessarily prioritizing my rest. So maybe you need to prepare the environment in which you are sleeping, perhaps you need to freshen it up, you need to fill up your pillows get on a consistent schedule with washing your bedding. And I know these probably sound like very simplistic things. But when we don’t prioritize them, these are some of the things that are the lowest on our list. And because of that we find ourselves waiting until we are completely exhausted to rest and sleep. So I want to really challenge you to consider whether or not where you are resting is prepared for you to get sufficient rest. It could be that your window coverings are not keeping out the light that you need them to keep out. Right. There are a lot of things in the atmosphere that contribute to how well we do or do not sleep. is the temperature right in your bedroom? Do you maybe need a candle or a diffuser or something of that nature. And also, even in preparation for setting the atmosphere in your room? I think it’s also important that you think about what you’re doing just before bed. And I know I already talked about boundaries, but what is it that you’re doing just before bed that is affecting your ability to get that rest you’re affecting your ability to you know, really feel well as you are preparing to end your day. Right? So what is or isn’t in your sleeping space, your bedroom, your living quarters, that needs to be there or that needs to be removed. And then finally, you’ve got to persist. You can’t try this one or two nights and then give up. Right you are going to be building a new habit. And for some of us sleep and rest are not the easiest things and that’s why the boundaries and the preparation are so important. But even more so you have to persist, right? Maybe it’s going to take A few weeks or even a month, a few months for you to get to the point where you feel like you are recognizing the difference in your sleep and how you are waking up. But don’t give up sleeping your way to the top in 2021 is going to be transformational. I promise you this past week has just been amazing for me. And I’m so grateful that God impressed it upon me to give myself the permission to prioritize, prepare and persist, even when I struggled with it on certain days or at certain times because of how important it is. And so I’m just praying that in this season, you are recognizing how God has created you to be and to do and to have so much more than you could ever even wrap your mind around. But it’s going to require more of you. And for you to be able to pour of course, you have to fill your cup and you cannot do it without sufficient rest, and sleep. And so I want you to this self care Saturday morning. And whenever you are listening to this, I really want you to look at your planner, I want you to look at your calendar. And I want you to make sure that you’re scheduling, the time that is necessary for you to rest. And for you to sleep. This is about the prioritizing. And this is about the preparation. And it’s how you persist, right. So if you have things that are scheduled up until midnight, some of those things are going to need to go other places because you are now prioritizing your rest earlier in the evenings. Right? If you have things that are scheduled from the time that you wake up, then some of those things are going to be rescheduled because you need to have some space and therefore rest and for sleep. And so I want you to go and get your planner after you listen to this episode. I want you to look at what schedule in your Google Calendar and what you have committed to already and do some reflecting and some recommitment to yourself and to God to execute with excellence in this year. And to do so by prioritizing, preparing and persisting to sleep your way to the top. I would love love to hear your feedback on this episode. You can of course grab my email in the show notes and shoot me a message. I am on Instagram and Facebook and you can DM me in these internet streets. My handle on social media, if you’re not already following me is at the Tiffany Huff would love to hear from you and connect with you there. I am so grateful that you have spent your time with me today and I will leave you with this. God is not going to play you but if you refuse to prioritize, prepare and persist at rest and sleeping your way to the top. You are playing your self be blessed!

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Hey, begin. Hey, I am super excited to build the blueprint with you today. Let’s get into it. Let’s start with highs and lows. Why don’t we? How has your week been? What have been your highs and lows? Definitely. For me my highs have been that I am back to consistently working out. And I have been doing my sprints. I am getting back to being a runner. And I am excited about that. Do you run? What a sister No. And as it relates to Lowe’s, I would say y’all know I am a bibliophile and I have not been making time to read. I have a ton of new books. And actually, there’s a new one I want to get. But I have not been prioritizing my reading time. And so my books are stacking up. And my birthday is coming and I’ll likely get some new books. So hopefully on the next episode, I’ll be sharing that my high is that I’ve gotten to dig into some of my new books. So I would love to hear from you. What are your highs and lows for the week. And you know, if you notice my lows, the lows are usually an opportunity to create an A high or dependent upon perspective could also be a high. So I would love to hear from you to share your highs and lows. tag me on Instagram or Facebook at the Tiffany Huff. So today we are talking about prayer. Specifically, you know the challenges that we often face when we get what we pray for. But it does not look or feel the way we expected it to. So today’s question if you are not even if you are today’s question for you to jot down in your journal because I know my begins, come here ready to get the T the tips, the tools, and you have your journal ready. So today’s question is, do you remember what you prayed for? Do you remember what you prayed for? And you might be thinking, Tiffany is my prayer. I know what I pray for? And I hear you, I do.

But I want you to bear with me anyway. And I want you to really give this some serious consideration. I want you to get honest with yourself while you consider this and know that on this bounce back journey, it gets challenging, you know, again, there are peaks and valleys on this journey, which is why we are now starting every episode with highs and lows because I want you to recognize that it’s not always going to be perfect. It’s not always going to be easy. But it doesn’t mean that God is not still with you. God is always an is still faithful. And I want you to be encouraged and know that there are always lessons in those valleys and as well as the peaks. So do you remember what you pray for? Now, I asked this question because sometimes when we ask for something or we pray to God for something and we receive it or he tells us Yes, we expect for it to manifest in a certain way right we have our preconceived notions, but God has in impeccable plan right it is not flawed at all. The challenge though, is when he gives us a yes to stay aligned with his plan and not try and get ahead of him and enforce our plan on him. Because here’s what I know for sure. if we are not careful, our expectations will causes us frustrations, our own willingness to align with God’s plan, or our desire to get ahead of God will cause us pain, sometimes money and drama every single time. And there is a clear example of this in the Bible, of course. And in fact, in the very beginning of the Bible, God is giving us this foresight through the story of Abraham and his wife, samurai, right? So in Genesis 15, and 16, we see how Abraham prays to God, and well actually God is giving Abraham a vision. And after Abraham is given the vision, I’m sorry, and at this point in the Bible, he’s Abraham, after Abraham has been given the vision, he says to God, in Genesis 15, to Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless, and the one who will inherit my estate is my servant. And God says to him in Genesis 15, for this man will not be your heir, but a son, who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir, okay? And then he, they have a conversation, and God affirms His word, he tells me to make a sacrifice, which he does. And so it is done. God has told him that he will give he and his wife a child, period, point blank. Then in Genesis 16, we find Samurai frustrated with the fact that she has not born a child for her husband in Genesis 16, one into she says, Now Sarah Abrams wife had born him no children, but she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar. So she said to Abraham, the Lord has kept me from having children, go sleep with my slave, perhaps I can build a family through her. Abraham agree to what surprised said last pause, because in the previous chapter, God affirmed Abrams prayer and told him that he would bear children and that his sermon would not be his heir. However, in the moment, I believe a room for God what he prayed for. Now, there is no context in this particular scripture that says, How much time lapse between chapter 15 and chapter 16. However, I am willing to bet that part of the reason Abraham forgot what he prayed for or dismissed it on sir, I made the suggestion is because of the amount of time that has elapsed, and so that is, again, why I am asking you today. Do you remember what you prayed for? Just because a significant amount of time has lapsed, does not mean that God’s promises for you are not still yes and Amen. Do you remember what you pray for? Go get your prayer journal, go and get your gratitude journal going get go into your prayer closet, if you have one, look at the dates that you wrote those entries and that you wrote those prayers. Maybe you didn’t write them down. Maybe it was years ago, that you pray to God for your own child. Maybe it was years ago that you pray to God, that your fiance would be ready to be your husband or that in fact, you would even meet a potential fiance. Maybe it was years ago that you pray to God for a promotion, or raise that someone will want to hear your story and embrace it. Only you know what you pray for and when you pray for it, but I am here today to remind you that it does not matter when you pray the prayer. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been praying the prayer. There are no expiration dates on your prayers, nor are their expiration dates on God’s promises. God told Abraham immediately after he affirmed that he would give him a child or children. He said in Genesis 15 five look up The sky and count the stars, if indeed you can count them, then he said to him, so shall your offstring offspring be.

Abraham believed the lore and he credited to him as righteousness. So God not only told him that he would bear a child, but that he would have so much offspring, that he wouldn’t even be able to count. Like he can’t count the stars in the sky. So, you know, not only did God affirm his prayer, he promised him that he would answer his prayer exceedingly and abundantly more than what he had asked for. And the same is true for you. But you’ve got to remember what you pray for and be aligned with it accordingly. Sir, II may not have been privy to what God told Abraham. Again, the scripture does not give us this context. In Genesis, however Abraham knew. And so there is the second point that I want you to make. Everybody else does not know what you pray for. And you have to be careful on this journey. When you are bouncing back. And people begin to take notice of what you’re doing, or what you’re preparing to do. Maybe God has given you a word of vision, and you’ve shared it with some people. And now they are coming around and saying, Why is it taking so long? You haven’t. XYZ by now. You still waiting on God? You’ve been working so hard, you’ve been doing so much, and everybody else is? Fill in the blank, right? Because, again, the Bible doesn’t say this. But I’m sure Sir, I was feeling like everyone else is having children. We are the only ones who aren’t, we need to do something. And so I want you to be mindful in this season, when people begin to question what you know to be true question the promises that God has made you do you remember what you pray for? Now, I’m not saying that you need to explain anything to anybody. But you do need to remember what you pray for, so that you aren’t making rash decisions, in the moment based on circumstances based on people’s opinions based on a timeline that you created, that God never validated, God never affirmed. You have to be careful that your affirmation is coming from God and not from other people. Let me say that, again, for the people in the balcony, you need to be sure that your affirmation is coming from God and the Word of God and that you are not caught up in or tripping over other people’s affirmation or the desire for validation from any body other than God. And here’s the other thing that you really need to be mindful of. God expects us to be good stewards, not only good stewards of the physical things that he has given us dominion over right, so not only good stewards of your material possessions, not only good stewards of your child or children, your marriage or relationships, but he expects us to be good stewards over his promises. And when we are not good stewards over God’s promises, then there are consequences. And so if you read on in Genesis 16, in verse four, once Hagar becomes pregnant, it says, when she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. So now sariah is dealing with some unruliness some attitude, that ultimately the consequences of getting ahead of God of not being a good steward of God’s promises. And so what is going to happen, what happens is that there becomes some discord in their marriage, because now she’s going to Abraham and saying, this is your fault. And he’s telling her, you wanted this, you deal with it. And again, this is a TIFF notes version of verses five through six, and you can read it verbatim on your own time. But the point is that even when you think you have come up with a solution, and you, you take action to get ahead of God, there will be consequences. there will be consequences, and then you will have to spend even more time to get what God had already promised you was yours. Because now you have to deal with the impact of your decision to get out of your position and try to assume Gods Do you remember what you pray for?

Remember, this bounce back journey is about you rebuilding your life. But it’s about you rebuilding your life God’s way as about you, rebuilding your life so that you can share your story for God to get the glory. In order for you to do that. You have to be in alignment with him. You can get tired, but you don’t want to quit doing it’s God. Doing it God’s way. You can get frustrated. But don’t let your frustration turn into disobedience don’t allow your frustration to turn into self sabotage. Do you remember what you’ve prayed for? Or have you gotten so far away? From what you prayed? Have you gotten so far away from your connection with God, from his word in his will that you do not remember what you pray for? Listen, you know, this is a safe space. This is not about judgment. This is about me supporting and challenging you to get back on track to get back into alignment with your divine assignment. And so if your answer is no, I don’t remember what I pray for? Or if your answer is I prayed. And then I still did it my way, then here is what I am praying that you will begin to do. Number one, if you don’t already have a prayer closet, or at least a prayer journal, let today be the day that you start one. And this does not have to be anything that is going to cost you a lot of money. It doesn’t have to be expensive. You can go to the dollar store and buy a journal, you can go to the dollar store and buy some index cards are posted. And some, some tape if you want to actually start a prayer closet. And I recommend that you put a date on every index card or posted or on every page in your prayer journal. And I also highly recommend that when you get an answer from God, whether it’s a promise, or the actual manifestation of whatever it is that you are praying for that you make note of that. And the date of that is well, because God will get the glory from your story when you share that you pray for something on What is today’s date, when you share that you pray for something on Wednesday, May 26 2021. And God answers your prayer on Thursday, May 27 2021, he will also get the glory. If you share that you may have prayed a prayer on Wednesday, May 26 2021, and you receive an answer in May of 2031. Do not put time limitations on God. Be a good steward of your prayers. Be a good steward of God’s promises in your life, and stand on them. Don’t let anybody get in your air telling you is taking you too long, or it doesn’t look like God is involved. Or you need to do something now because God is not. Listen, this is not the time for you to try and fit in. This is not the season for you to be a chameleon and have expectations for your journeys or God’s will to look the way it looks in anyone else’s life. You are not called to be a chameleon, you are called to stand up and stand out. And sometimes you have to do that longer than you would like sometimes you are going to have to endure more than the woman or the person standing next to you and door anyway. Stand anyway. Know that God’s promises for your life are still yes and Amen. And it is okay to remind God of your prayer. You know, in fact, Abraham did remind god of his prayer in Genesis 17 because at this point he was 99 years old. And Abraham is our Abraham is like so. You want to give me a song one I’m 99 100 years old. In fact, in Genesis 1717 that’s exactly what he asked, Will Sarah bear a child at the age of 90 because he’s pushing 100.

Sarah isn’t is pushing 90 and he wants to know you know, he’s reminding god you know, you said you would give us a sign and God affirms again. Yes. You are going to have a Son, then in Genesis 19, he comes back and Abrams like, Alright, now I’m, I’m out here in the streets, all old. And you keep saying, I’m going to have a son. And when Abraham tells us to Sarah, she left. She says in Genesis 18, and 12, after I’m worn out, and my lord is all well, I now have this pleasure. Then the Lord asked, Why did Sarah laugh and say why I really have a child now that I am old. But baby, it is chapter 14, for me, is anything too hard for the Lord, I will return to you at the appointed time next year. And Sarah will have a son, I will return to you at the appointed time. Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Do you remember what you pray for? This is what I want to leave with you that there was nothing too hard for the Lord and your prayer, his promise will be made manifest in your life at the appointed time. Now you can go into Genesis and read the rest of the story and learn that in fact, Abraham and Sarah did have a fun and his name was Isaac. And Isaac was born when God said he would be. And so I want to encourage you today, get into your prayer journal, get into your prayer closet, remind yourself, first of what you’ve prayed for. And as you continue to praise their prayer, as Abraham did, even after they had made the mistake and gotten ahead of God, remind god of of his prayers, and remind those around you, right, who are closest to you who are on this journey with you. Because ultimately, you know, Abraham and Sarah were the closest of close, right, so he did have to remind her of what God said. And in fact, he asked her, why did you laugh? Or when she denied that she laughed, he said, Yes, you did laugh, you know, because he needed her to understand. He needed her to remember what he prayed for and what God promised him. And so I need you to remember what you pray for. I need you to stand on it, regardless of how long it takes. And I need you to have the boldness and authority to remind those around you who are naysayers, who are trying to encourage you to do anything out of alignment with God, even if it is a good thing. It is not a God thing that you remind them of what you pray for, I would love to hear about the prayer closet you are creating about the prayer journal that you are starting. And I want to be sure to say there is no right or wrong way to start a prayer closet or a prayer journal, and my own personal prayer journal. When I write in it, I do start with confessing right so that if there’s anything that I need to repent for, or that I need forgiveness for, I start with that. And then I go into gratitude. And then I make my petitions before the Lord. And you can use that format or you can create your own. You don’t have to do in any particular way. This is really about your journey and your relationship with God. So I pray that you are encouraged this week that you are going to create the space and prioritize time to not only develop or get reconnected with your prayer closet, prayer journal, but also to reflect on what you prayed for. Even like I said, if it was decades ago, whether it was days ago or decades ago that you remember what you pray for, and you live your life accordingly. And that you begin to prepare for it so that when you are in the valley longer than you expect it to you don’t develop a plan to get ahead of God. You seek Him to determine what you need to do in the meantime.

Because what I know to be true is that God is not going to play you. But if you are out here in these streets getting ahead of God because you don’t remember what you have pray for. I promise. You are playing your self. Be blessed. Oh, and before I go, remember, if you haven’t already, please leave a review. When you do you create the space and an opportunity for other vegans like you to get connected. Be a blessing to someone else today.

Ep 81 | REWIND: Can You Introduce Me to Your Future Self? Delays + Detours Do Not Equal Defeat

Are you frustrated because you know God has called you do something specific, but for some reason no matter how hard you try you can’t “get there”?

If you answered yes, this episode is for you.  In this episode I am sharing a divine download God gave me about how we sometimes put ourselves in holding patterns because things don’t look or feel the way we expect them to.  Sometimes we put ourselves in holding patterns because we think we have to arrive at a certain destination before we can do the work to fulfill our destinies.  That could not be further from the truth.

It’s time for you to begin to use what is in your hands right there where you are.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Hey beacon, welcome home to your bounce back blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best. As you thrive on your journey from setback to success. I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death, healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it, and shout out to God, ever since I was courageous enough to share my story, my life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. Hey, beacon, hey, I am so excited to be building the blueprint with you this week. I’m excited because we’ve wrapped up this series on, you know, the lies we tell ourselves. And I hope that in listening to those episodes, and our guests, that you were able to get honest with yourself, and recognize the lies that you’ve been telling yourself and decide that you are no longer going to sabotage yourself or do yourself and those who are called to serve at this service, by continuing to live by those lies. And so today, I have a question for you. And I want you to grab your journal, if you haven’t grabbed your journal already, if you have not been bringing your journal to these podcast episodes, which are like mini coaching sessions, then I need you to get that together, hit pause, grab your journal, because I have a question for you today. And I really want you to take the time to answer this question and answer it honestly. And so here’s the question. Can you introduce me to your future self? Can you introduce me to your future self?

What?

Yes. Let me tell you why that is the question. So here we are. second month of 2021. And it is around this time of the year when the resolutions start to fall to the wayside. And those old habits begin to resurface when things we said we were leaving in 2020 somehow find their way out of the closet out of our wallets, back into the contact list in our phones, if we’re honest. And so I want you to give yourself permission for the next 20 minutes or so that we are together to introduce me to your future self. And before you start to introduce me to your future self, I want to share with you one of the challenges that comes with embracing your future self, right it is this idea that you have to get to a certain destination, or you have to accomplish a certain thing. Or you have to be a certain way. Right, you have to lose a certain amount of weight, all of the lies we were talking about all of these things before you can embrace and allow yourself to be the woman that God is telling you, He created you to be. It’s not about the destination. The reality is that you need the clarity about who your future self is. And then you need the courage to become her now. And I want to demonstrate this by a divine download that I received from God last week. So I was getting ready for bed. I was in the bathroom. And I don’t know I guess this is a sign of getting old because I now spend quality time in the bathroom. Just sitting there pondering so many different things. Sometimes talking to God sometimes talking to myself, but I digress. On this particular night. I don’t think I was talking to myself or God I was just kind of decompressing as I prepared to get into bed. And God interrupted my thoughts. And he said to me, you know, Tiffany, part of the reason why you’ve been feeling the way you’ve been feeling, mind you I didn’t tell him I was feeling any type of way. But he gets in your business like that. He said, part of the reason why you’ve been feeling the way you’ve been feeling is because you are so focused on getting there. And he said, You don’t have to get there to do what I have called you to do. And he brought me or he gave me this vision of myself in an airport. And I can see this airport very clearly. And he’s told me, he said, You’ve been in this airport, and your flight has been delayed and detoured over and over again. And every time the attendant comes to the counter, to announce that another flight is coming in, or that a flight is going to be taking off, you are the first one at the counter, saying Is it my turn, is my name at the top of the list? Am I still going to be on standby, I’ve been here for so long, and I’m ready to go, I have so much to do when I get to where I’m going. And because of what is going on with this airport. And these flights and this pandemic, I’ve been here much longer than I have anticipated, I haven’t slept properly, I can’t get comfortable here, I want to take off my shoes, you know, I am on this rant with this attendant. And the attendant again tells me Well, you know, you’re still on standby, we will see. And so I do the walk of shame, with my bags and my laptop bag back to the seat where I was sitting. And what God showed me as I sat down is you need to do what I’ve told you to do in the airport. Now I’m saying airport with air quotes, right? Because all of us are not literally in an airport. However, we all spend extreme amounts of time in a certain space. And a certain space in our minds, or in a certain space where we feel like we can’t do because of where we are, all of us have spent exorbitant amounts of time thinking that when we get to said place, we will be able to do whatever God has called us to do. And what God showed me during that vision is that there are plenty of seats in the airport. And there are places where I can put my bag down, there are places where I can plug my laptop and my phone into charge it. And in fact, there are people in that airport that need what he has given me to serve with. There are people in that airport, who are waiting to hear what I have to say. However, because I’m so focused on the destination, I am missing out on opportunities to walk in my destiny, right where I am. And I’m willing to bet that this is or has been true for you as well. And part of the reason is that you have not begun to do the work necessary to not only introduce others to your future self right, not only introduce others to how you can serve them, how you can help them what God has given you how he intends to move in and through you. Right, you haven’t introduced yourself to yourself. You haven’t fully accepted who you are, according to God, as you said, you are yourself. And so if that is the case, how can you introduce yourself to others? And that is why I started this episode with the question, can you introduce me to your future self? And so I want you to begin answering this question by considering what is the destination that you are focused on? Where are you going? What goals are you setting to get to a certain place, right? And this doesn’t have to be an actual location per se. But where are you working to get to? Right? What is it going to take for you to get there? And when you get there, how will you serve? How will you impact others? And if you want to take it a step further, who are the others you will impact? These are the questions that needs to be answered in order for you to introduce me and yourself to your future self. And then when you have those answers, I want you to really spend some time meditating and praying over them. And then I want you to look at what you can do right now where you are. And specifically, I want you to consider whether or not the people that you put down on your paper or wrote in your journal, or who you are going to serve, or where you are right now, who’s in the airport with you, that does not know what you are preparing to do, what you’ve already been prepared to do, and how you are called to serve them. who haven’t you introduced your future self to other than yourself. And consider the disservice you are doing those people, because they may not necessarily be waiting on a physical flight, they may be waiting on what you have to give them to share with them to teach them, they may be waiting on that in order for them to take off.

In order for them to be elevated off the ground in order for them. To get off a stalling runway. They may need you to help them build momentum. Are you with me, you are not waiting on a flight to take off. You are simply waiting to get familiar with yourself, you’re waiting for the clarity that you need to actually be your self so that you have the courage to get off the runway. See, the final thing that God showed me. And that vision of the airport scene was that it has very little to do with the pandemic that is happening across the globe. That these flights are being delayed and detoured. It has more to do with the personal pandemics that you are dealing with or not within yourself. The lies you tell yourself, your lack of clarity, right, your unwillingness to be courageous and to move through the fear, to grow through the fear. And then also, when you know who you are and what God has called you to do, and you’re consistently taking those steps, he will give you the discernment to recognize that is not that you will never get there is that there are some things he is going before you to prepare. So that when you get there, the people you are called to serve and bless and impact on the other side of the baggage claim or prepare for you that the land is ready for you. Right? That the people he speaks of choosing you to serve, are ready for how you will serve them. And so if he has you in a place where you feel like you’re on hold, where you’re feel like you’re ready to go, only you’re in the wrong place to do the work that I need you to lug around. I need you to sit down. I need you to learn to be content where you are without being complacent. And part of being able to be content without being complacent is getting familiar with your future self and embracing her now. embracing your gifts now. Understand understanding the abundance of what is in your hands now.

Knowing that there is a specific reason why some of your bags again air quotes, were checked with baggage claim and some of them you are carrying them around with you everywhere you go in that airport, in that holding space. What’s in those bags. What you have in those bags, what you have in your hands are everything you need to begin to introduce me and others to your future self. And that means that you can begin to do the work right where you are. Right now, as you wait for your flight to arrive, as you wait for your flight to take off, there is work to be done in the waiting. There are people for you to serve in the waiting, there are blessings for you to bestow upon others in the waiting. You’ve got to be willing to shift your perspective, right? You’ve got to be willing to accept and understand that delays and detours do not equal defeat. and be prepared to serve every person you meet, regardless of where you are, regardless of the circumstances. Can you introduce me to your future self, I would love to meet her. I would love to see the work that she is going to do to transform the world. And in fact, I would love to see that work begin today. And so again, I am challenging you to answer those questions. Where are you going? Where are you focused on going? Where are you trying to get to? What goals have you set for this month for this week for this year? To get you from where you are, to where you’re going? And who is there for you to serve? And how are you going to serve them? Now please hear me out. This is not about you starting a business necessarily. This is not necessarily about your professional life. Though the answers to these questions are very specific and personal for you. That’s why I said you need your journal because you need the time to do this work. You’ve got to get clear on where you’re going and why. so that you can understand that where you are now is equally as important, if not more important than the destination where the flight you’re waiting on will take you and you’ve got to understand that there are some people in the airport in the space where you are, that are waiting for you to serve for their flight to take off you in essence, or the flight they’re waiting for. And I am confident that until you do the work where you are in this layover space, in this meanwhile space, your flight is not going to arrive, you will not begin to ascend, you are not going to see yourself soaring the way God has intended you do because you haven’t done the work on the ground level to prepare. And sometimes doing the work in advance right? Is the preparation. Think about it. doctors do years of residency right? Before they be given before they become a doctor. Right doctors practice medicine, they do the work before they are necessarily able to do the work. And the same is true for you. And listen, you don’t have to do this alone. You don’t have to go through this process alone. I would love to work with you.

I would love to be your coach and guide you. support you and of course challenge you to grow through this season. So that you can in fact, take off in 2021 so that you don’t spend the entirety of this year, feeling stuck feeling confused feeling like you’ll never get to where you know God has told you. He is taking you. For you. The first step may be to put your bags down and recognize that what is in your hand is your phone or your laptop with this voice of mind coming through it. And knowing that in your hands is an opportunity for you to be helped. I am here just like those people are waiting for you to serve them. I am waiting to serve you. And if you are ready to start this process, if you are ready to put an end to the delays and the detours and really get in position and be prepared for when your flight is going to take off. Then let’s get on a breakthrough call. Let’s work together to see how The two of us can make the magic necessary for you to begin to soar. The link to work with me is in the show notes. And your breakthrough session is no obligation for time specifically for us to chat about where you’re going. It’s time for you to introduce me to your future self. And for me to let you know how I can support you in embodying her today. So grab that link, schedule your time to chat. I look forward to hearing from you. God is not going to play you. But if you are out here in the streets, pretending to be anyone other than who God has already showed you. He called you to be doing anything other than what he’s already shown you. He’s called you to do our promises. You are playing yourself. Be blessed!

Hey, begin. Hey, what do you do, boo, I am so excited to continue building the blueprint with you this week. So let’s hop right in. We are going to kick off in a new form of fashion with this week’s highs and lows. So I’ve had several highs this week, but one that I will share with you is that I had an amazing Sunday, this past Sunday, my husband and my younger son and I, we went to breakfast. And then we decided since it was such a beautiful day The sun was shining, to go up to the local outlet mall. And so we went up to the local outlet mall, we just hung out, I got myself a new pair of running shoes, because your girl is ready to get back to run in the streets. And so it was just a beautiful day. And then later on my husband and I went for a nice drive. And we’re able to just talk and really enjoy a day stress free not worried about business not worried about anything actually just really embracing and having gratitude for the little things in life that are at our disposal every day. And sometimes when we get caught up in all of the nuances we lose sight of so Sunday was definitely my high for the week. And then my love for this week is that several of the clients that I am working with to write their stories, their their season, is coming to an end. And so while it’s great that they are moving forward and preparing to publish their book, it’s sad. For me, it’s a low for me, because I’ve been working with them for about six months, now we’ve bonded and you know, I’m going to miss them. And so it’s one of those lows, that’s actually a high. And I really want to challenge you to look at all of your lows, and see the high that comes with it see what blessing or lesson or opportunity for you to grow forward is wrapped up in your low. So in this case, I am absolutely positively going to miss spending time with these ladies every week, as we’ve been doing for the past several months. However, I am super excited to see them come out of their cocoons and become the beautiful butterflies that they have been doing the work to become and also to see how impactful their stories are going to be for all of the women who have the opportunity to be blessed by them. And that also creates an opportunity for you. If you have been feeling stuck. If you have been feeling like you can’t get clear or you don’t know what to do next. If you’re overwhelmed with everything you have to do when you don’t know how to prioritize if you’re ready for your transformation and want to come out of your cocoon, and be the beautiful butterfly that God called and created you to be and you’re looking for a guide. I am right now, taking new coaching clients and I would love to have a conversation with you about how we can work together to bring your beautiful transformation to life. You can grab the link in the show notes, which is bit.li slash your bounce back guide to schedule a breakthrough session. And we can see how we can work together to make some magic I would love to do that. Now, if you don’t already have it, grab your journal so we can get to building this blueprint. As I shared last week, there will be some changes one of which is that we’re going to start each episode with highs and lows and also with the question in true coffee and clarity form. So the question Today is, is it time for you to level up? Is it time for you to level up. And sometimes it’s challenging to know, right? For sure, you may be in a great space, maybe you have a good rhythm going, or you can see the trajectory, you have this vision, you have a plan, you’re marking things off the list. But this week, I want to talk to you about the heat that comes with leveling up, and specifically, a conversation that God and I had about leveling up. So you know, summer is on the horizon. Like I said, this past weekend, it was really warm here. And I know it’s about to be it’s about to get hot. And let me tell you, in this leveling up process, it can be a challenge to keep your focus in the heat sometimes, especially when God sees fit to make you feel even, well hotter. You know what I mean? When you feel like all eyes are on you, when you’ve been pressing God to answer your prayer, then he does and now he’s pressing you.

Do you know what I mean? If not just keep listening. You know, this might help you help sister so and so if it doesn’t apply to you right now. Here in Pittsburgh. from week to week, it seems like we skipped from winter to summer. One day when it was really hot. I was like, God, what is going on? Why is it so hot? He was like Tiffany, heat rises, you have got to expect it to get hotter as you rise to the top. And then he dropped the mic. And let me just tell you that I am sharing a real live conversation between God and I. And I want you to remember that the bounce back blueprint community is a judgment free zone. And so don’t judge me for what I am sharing. So he dropped the mic. And I was feeling kind of stuck. Because I’ll be honest, I don’t really like being cold. But I wasn’t sure I wanted it to get any hotter. I was really questioning whether I wanted to go higher. But God with as much grace as he could muster, as he watched me contemplate whether I wanted to shrink down or level up in the ways he was calling me to. He said it’s time to level up Tiffany. And then he reminded me of a passage in Second Peter chapter one and it is verses one through three. or excuse me, it’s actually verses three through 10. And I’m going to read these verses to you verbatim from the Nivea version and it says his divine power has given us everything we need for God, we live through our knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness knowledge and to knowledge self control, and to self control perseverance and to preserve variance godliness and to godliness mutual affection and to mutual affection love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and productive and unproductive. Let me say that again. For if you possess these qualities and increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive and your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is near sighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past and therefore my brothers and sisters make every effort to confirm your calling and election for if you do these things, you will never stumble. Whoo. And you know what, at that moment, he could have dropped the mic again. But me being me, I was like, Okay, and so he went on, it’s time to level up. It’s time to stop praying small and using your prayers as an excuse to play small. It’s time to stop half stepping when I am telling you to leap. Did you catch that? It’s time to stop half stepping when God is telling you to leap. It’s time to stop tiptoeing when the earth should be shaking when your feet hit the ground. Basically, it’s time to level up says the first step to leveling up is to elevate your mind. You’ve got to know that you know that you know that it’s bigger than you see because folks will have you think and leveling up means a big House car, sometimes even bigger hair. But all of that is for not if you don’t expand your thoughts to reach the height of the truth that your calling is bigger than you, you can get a bigger house car hair, and you can add zeros to your bank account and still be in the valley. Leveling up isn’t a trajectory your boss or your boo can show you how to pursue. Leveling up is what happens when you hear when you believe when you accept where God has called you to. Even when the heat rises. Leveling up is about getting your mind right. It’s about recognizing that the faith for things hope for will one day be made plain. It’s about the truth that sometimes you have to endure the heat before God will make it rain. And then he said to me again, it’s time to level up. And he told me to reread Second Peter one through three, or excuse me, Second Peter one, verses three through 10. This time, he told me to read it in the message. And so I’m going to read it for you.

And it says everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know personally and intimately The one who invited us to God, the best invitation we ever received. We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turn your back on a world corrupted by lust. So don’t lose a minute building on what you’ve been giving. contemplating your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and genuine generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the other. With these qualities active and growing in your lives. No grass will grow under your feet. No day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities, you can’t see what’s right before you oblivious, that your own simple life has been wiped off the books. So friends, confirm God’s invitation to you, his choice of you don’t put it off, do it. Now, do this and you’ll have your life on a firm footing. The streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our master and Savior, Jesus Christ. Oh, and he wasn’t done. He went on to remind me again, it’s time to level up, sis. When you get your mind right, your behaviors will begin to align. And you’ll be less likely to allow people to waste your time, you’ll be less likely to consume those things that don’t serve your spirit, you’ll be less likely to feel the heat and try to go back down there where it’s cool. And I want you to remember in that scripture, I would talk about turning your back on your simple life, right? That’s what it means when it gets hot when the pressure is on when God calls you higher. And it requires more of you and you want to go back to where it’s comfortable and cool. When you recognize the heat is rising. Because it is time for you to rise up. It is time for you to speak up. It is time for you to go higher than God will show you the heat has come because he is affirming the truth. You deserve what you desire, especially when your desires are aligned with what is divine. And I want you to write this down. When you stop praying prayers of procrastination. When you commit to leveling up to your purpose destination, you will welcome to heat waves with no hesitation because as you prepare to level up, you got to let some stuff go. You don’t show up in a snow suit. In the midst of a heatwave this, you don’t bring the baggage of last season when you’re leveling up. Leveling up means letting some stuff go. Some people go leveling up is about growth at Godspeed. And before you go writing a list of the people that you need to let go of, I want you to stop looking outside of you and I want you to go within because leveling up requires you to do some unbecoming. There are some thoughts that you’ve been thinking that cannot go with you on this next level as God is growing you forward. So you really have to get your mind right, you need to check your soundtrack and make sure that God is at the top of that playlist and not what people told you about yourself, not the labels that you’ve been wearing, or the painful thoughts from your past. It’s time to level up and that means getting your mind Right first, it’s a season of unbecoming to become. So before you even think about the leading names out of your phone and deleting friends off your social media start with you, because here’s what I know for sure. When you are in this season of leveling up and you get your mind right, your behaviors are going to change, the places that you go are going to change, the things that you desire are going to change. And naturally, organically, those people who are no longer aligned with your higher thoughts with the season that you are growing into, are going to fall back. Right? This is not about cutting people off. This is not about the cut off culture, this is about you taking the steps and making the decision to do and being have what God is calling you to and doing the work required in this season says it is time to level up. And let me offer you this nugget of truth.

This growth this season of unbecoming to become it is going to come with grief, there is no growth without grieving. Unfortunately, though, we are rarely reminded about the grief associated with growth. And so I, I would be remiss to breeze through this that or to make you believe that all of this growth and leveling up is going to be peaches and cream and all butterflies and you know that happy music is not growth hurts, you know, the old folks used to say things like, Oh, those are just growing pains. But growing pains are real. And so I want you to be sure that as you are in this leveling up process, you are really creating the space to be that you are giving yourself grace to really understand and embrace the woman who God is growing you into. There is a lot of grief associated with growth is not glamorous, but the transformation will certainly be worth it. I would encourage you to get a journal for this season designated specifically for this season of leveling up and write in it every morning, even in the evenings if you have the capacity to do so. And not just about your gratitude, but the raw and real truth of the experience that comes with unbecoming to become and here are some questions that you can ask yourself weekly has my own willingness to grieve stunted my growth or is my unwillingness to grieve stunting my growth? Am I stuck or feeling stuck because I am struggling with the process to um become in order to become who God has called and created me to be? And what songs or thoughts are on my soundtrack that I need to get rid of for God to get the glory with the way that I’m living my life and the story that comes with the way that I am living my life. So if you missed those, I would say go back, you know, rewind, grab your journal, and really begin to dig into this process of unbecoming, embrace the grief because it is part of your journey to growth.

So after God got me together, after he called the weather here in Pittsburgh down a bit after I took several naps, and played a few games of words were friends, I decided it was time for me to prepare for what I had been praying for. It was time for me to decide I could accept this heat. And I am ready for more. I decided to level up to align with the divine. I decided that I am going to wake up every day with the expectation of power of peace and prosperity. It’s time to level up and I want to know Are you with me? Listen, another part of leveling up is recognizing that you need help. And I knew that part of my level of required me to invest in being God’s best. And that meant that I had to enlist some help. So I got a new coach. I still have my therapist and I have a powerful squad of prayer partners that I come together with once a week and so I want you to consider what you need and invest in the help that is required. This invest is going to require your time, my prayer partners meet at 630. In the morning, every Thursday, I’m already up. But even if I wasn’t, it would be a season of stretching for me. Because that’s what leveling up means. That’s where you start to feel the heat when it’s like, Oh, God, please. And then he fulfills your prayer, and it requires more of you. So if you need help, you have to be willing to take the steps and invest the time and the treasure to get it. The coach that I hired, was a huge investment. But I recognize that for me to become the woman who God has called and created me to be, it’s going to require me to invest God has already invested in me, and he’s already invested in you. And so he’s modeling that for you. If you need some support, it is okay. Again, level up your thoughts, I would love to be your support, I would love to be your coach. Like I said, I am opening up space in my client roster. And you can grab a link in the show notes and schedule your breakthrough session. Let’s work together in this season of leveling up so that you can be doing have all that God has called you to. Here’s what I know for sure. And as always what I leave you with, God is not going to play you says but if you are praying prayers of procrastination, as God is preparing you to rise to the top and you don’t want any more heat, so you praying for him to stop. You are definitely playing your self. My prayer for you this week is that you align with the divine and prepare to rise. It is time to level up. And before I let you go if this episode has been a blessing for you, please take a moment and leave a review. When you do you create an opportunity for other beacons like you to find this space this community and all that is being shared here as she is on her level of growing forward, bounce back journey as well. I love you and I look forward to chatting with you. In the next episode billions of blessings.

Hey, beacon. Hey, I’m so excited to bring you this bonus episode from a live stream that I did today all about the power of margin fourth, as Today is March 4, it is the only day of the year that is a command, grab your journal, and get ready to dig into these nuggets. Before you do though, know that this episode is being brought to you by the power morning, a powerful, pun intended 21 day journey for women of God who are ready to rebuild Fame at home first and ready to do the work necessary to prioritize prioritize yourself and your relationship with God so that you can really bounce back grow through and be do and have all that he has called you to. We kick off the next session on Monday, March 15. And I would love to have you at the table, there is a seat for you. All you have to do is grab the link in the show notes and reserve your spot. All right, grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint. My name is Tiffany Huff-Strothers. Hey beacon, welcome to your belt, blueprint community Podcast, where you are challenged to be do and have God’s best as you thrive on your journey from setback to success. I’m your bounce back guide, Tiffany Huff-Strothers. And I’ll be guiding you on the journey by sharing tips, tools, and the T on how I was able to bounce back from escaping death healing from heartbreak and finding hope in homelessness. And then I wrote an award winning book all about it and shout out to God. Ever since I was courageous enough to share my story. My life and the lives of women around the world have been forever changed. And as a member of the bounce back blueprint community, I’m called to teach you to do the same. So grab your journal, and let’s build this blueprint also known as your bounce back guide. I am a life and writing coach. And I am here today to share about the power of the command that is today. So today is a unique day. If you are listening on this, the day that I’m sharing this, today is a unique day because today is the only day of the year that is in and of itself a command a declaration. And when I say that what I mean is that Today is March 4 and march fourth is the only day of the year. That is a word that is a complete or that is a complete sentence. And so I wanted to come through this morning and talk to you about marching forth because this is generally the time of the year right, we’re coming to the end of the first quarter, we’re coming into prayerfully what will feel and look like spring right based on the weather and the changing of seasons. And so this is the time where we start to get a little antsy about the the resolutions and the goals and things that we set and we made that we have not been consistent with or follow through with. And so I wanted to bring you a little bit of encouraged this more encouragement this morning, and share with you why now is not the time to give up and why now more than ever, you need to get back up and march 4. And I’m going to share this Scripture with you first it is from Ezra 10 four. And this is the message version. and it simply says this, now get up, take charge we’re behind you don’t back down. And so this is a word specifically for you. If you have been in a space where you have been feeling like you’re growing Where are you been feeling like you’ve been ready to back down you’ve been feeling like even though you know, God has given you a call or charged you to do something, anything and everything that could go wrong is going wrong. And so you have been feeling like you are down you have been feeling like you can’t take charge you’ve been feeling like it’s time for you to back down now is not the time to retreat. Now is the time to march 4. And so I want to share quickly three things that are necessary for you to march 4 and three things that you may be feeling like you lack and or you might not recognize that you lack or that you might not recognize you are not utilizing the full power of and that is why it’s been a challenge for you or it feels challenging for you to march forth. So the first thing Is that you’ve got to have clarity. And if you’ve been following me or been connected to me for a while, or if you know me, you know, clarity is my jam. And the reason is that we so often take clarity for granted, we don’t recognize the power and having clarity. And sometimes people don’t really understand the fullness of what clarity is, in this season, though, what I feel like a lot of us are struggling with is being able to discern the difference between doing the most and doing what’s most important, right, we are challenged, especially because of the internet. And publicly, inconsistently seeing people’s successes, and not their failures that we feel like we need to be doing all of the things all of the time. And so instead of being intentional, and doing one thing with excellence, we feel the need to execute all of these different things at one time, and we are not doing any of them. Excellent, excellent lead. And so I want to encourage you that if you have been lacking clarity, it could be because you’re you’re all over the place, you’re multitasking. But even if you go back to the beginning, when God was created, he creating, he created one thing at a time, there were things that were designated for a specific time and a specific day in the seven days of creation. And so I want you to think about all of the things that you have going on and really give yourself permission, but also challenge yourself to consider what is the one thing that is most important, what is the thing that is suffering, because you are feeling like you need to retreat or you’re feeling like you need to back down. Because of all the clutter and confusion that is surrounding you. It’s weighing you down, it’s making you grow weary in well doing, it could be that you’re lacking clarity, because you’re trying to do the most instead of doing what’s most important. So what is most important for you in this season, that is what this on this day, in this week, you really need to focus on in order for you to march forth, what is the one thing that you can do and do with excellence, because here’s the reality, if you are not executing in excellence on the lowest level, you cannot expect that God is going to elevate you. And so with you marching for if you have to know that you have to start where you are, and do not despise small beginnings. But take that clarity, take that one thing and do it well. And know that God will bless that thing as long as it is in alignment with him, of course, and you will be able to march forth accordingly. Right? Like the Word says, There are people behind you. But because you’re all over the place, they aren’t really sure where or how to support you. And so with your clarity, you will be bringing clarity to others. And you will have clarity about the provision that God has already provided for the vision. But that is a challenge for you because you’re struggling with the clarity. So that’s number one. In order to march forth, you need to have clarity, number two, in order to march 4 is going to take some courage. So it takes courage to decide to focus on the one thing, it takes courage to get up as the scripture says, after you’ve fallen down so many times, and especially if you’ve fallen right in, in air quotes, especially if you fallen publicly, right? If you set a goal if you set out to do something, if you said last year and the year before and the year before, we’re going to be your year if you’ve shared that you’ve been praying and God has affirmed or confirmed a prayer but the manifestation isn’t fully open and available to other people you may be challenged with having the courage to get back up and continuing to march 4 and what you already know. God has told you yes and amen about but men cannot see. And so they are challenging you. And so I want to encourage you today that you know you perform for an audience of one be reminded that validation is for parking and your affirmation has already come from God. So no matter how many times you fall, get back up and get moving. Because there are people behind you there are people supporting you, and there are people in need of what you have, you have to have the courage to keep going. And also, back to that original point. When it comes to choosing making the decision to focus on the one thing and do it excellently. You have to have courage, because oftentimes it means you have to stop doing something right. In order for you to focus on that one thing, you’re gonna have to have the courage to stop, right. You’re also going to have to have the courage to start doing that thing consistently and with excellence because it’s going to require some shifts in your life. Life, people will question people will give you the sad eye, but you have to be courageous and march forth anyway. And in addition, focusing on that one thing, right, deciding to drill down and execute with excellence is a risk. So you have to have the courage to take a risk in order to march 4, and bring to fruition what God has called you to do in this season. And then finally, you have to be committed. Again, I’m gonna go back to Ezra 10, it says, Get up. And this might be something you have to consistently tell yourself over and over again. Now get up it didn’t say get up later than say, tomorrow, get up. It didn’t say, after you mess up all day today get I says now get up. So that means even if you failed this morning, even if you fail an hour ago, 10 minutes ago, get up now, and take charge. And let me be clear in saying that, when you are committed to taking charge, it’s doing the next best thing that you know to do. It’s not you moving into God’s position and stepping out of your own its meaning doing the next next best thing that you know to do. And knowing that there are people behind you the vision for the provision is already there, you have to march 4, and you have to be committed to marching forth. And that commitment comes in that last piece that says don’t back down. That means even when you come up against a mountain, don’t back down, even when it gets harder than you expected it to be. don’t back down even when it feels like people aren’t supporting you don’t back down even when you’ve been doing it for the 90 days, or the six months or the nine months that people told you it was going to take and it still hasn’t shifted the way you expected it to don’t back down March 4, today is a day for you to reset. Today is the day for you to begin again. Right, it’s Thursday, it’s Friday Eve so before you go into the weekend, deciding that you are exhausted deciding that you are ready to quit deciding that you’re just going to give up and you’ll start again next Monday or next month or next quarter or next year. I want you to really consider whether it is that you need to march 4 with more clarity, you need to march 4 with more courage, or you need to march 4 with a more commitment and conviction that this is your season to do the thing this is this your season to become the woman God already showed you that you are this is your season, to have what God has told you you would have in order for you to do those things you are going to have to march 4. And so I will leave you again with this scripture from Ezra 10. Four. In the message version, it says now get up. Now get up. Take Charge, we are behind you. Don’t back down March 4. And I want you to know that you don’t have to do this alone. Right? The Scripture says very clearly, we are behind you. If you know that this is a season that you need to march 4 if you know that this is a season, you really need to be intentional about seeking that clarity, building that courage, having the support and a guide to ensure that you are making the commitment then I strongly encourage you to consider being a part of the next session of the power morning. What is the power morning. It is a 21 day experience with a group of like minded women and myself. Well we get together at 5am.

And really learn the process of prioritizing both yourself and your relationship with God. From the moment that you wake up through that 21 day journey you will get clarity, right you will build the courage and work through your trust issues around really trusting God, really being intentional about your relationship with Him so that you can make the commitment and do the things that he has called you to do. Right. So you will get not only 21 days of coaching, you get access to a great community of women, you get access to a workbook that is chock full of not only resources, but prayer prompts, meditation exercises, physical exercise readings that will support and guide you through the journey. And then you have that ongoing community and support so that where you don’t know what to do, you not only have me as your guy but you have other women who are also seeking God and going to the throne on their own by behalf and also on your behalf to both challenge and encourage you. So I strongly encourage you to take the first step and being able to march 4 to Your resurrection, right? So Resurrection Day is April 4, the power morning starts on March 15, Monday, March 15. And we will be marching forward on that 21 day journey which will end on Resurrection Day. So if you know that there is something that you are working towards there is something that God would have you do, and you need that clarity, that courage and you need to make that commitment or you need to recommit. And you really want to see resurrection power manifest in your life in this season, then I strongly encourage you to grab the link in the Facebook video, if you’re watching there. We kick off on Monday, March 15. I pray that this word was a blessing for you that it gives you If nothing else, something to think about. How is it that you need to show up in March 4 with more clarity, more courage, more commitment, maybe you need to march 4, with more of all three. And that is all good knowing is half the battle. The next step is to march 4 and take an action. So I look forward to seeing you join myself and other women on March 15 for the power morning and I pray that you will begin to march 4 Now you will now get up. And you already know I’m going to leave you with this. God is not going to play you but if you are out here in the streets, choosing not to march 4 because you are struggling to have the clarity, courage or commitment when there is help out here for you. Says I promise you are playing your self be blessed.
